Disappointing stay despite the hotel looking new
I gave this hotel a low score because the experience was genuinely uncomfortable and the customer service made everything worse.
1) Bed quality (very important for a holiday)
The bed was extremely noisy — every time I moved it would creak loudly, which made it hard to sleep properly. On top of that, the bedsheets felt old and itchy, and they also had a strong bleach smell, like they had been over-treated.
2) Old towels + unfair charge
The towels provided were clearly old and heavily used (especially noticeable around the edges). Before leaving, I was also charged around £10 for one towel because my wet bikini left a stain on it. I explained that the stain would come out with a normal wash, but they insisted it wouldn’t and charged me anyway. I was on my way to the airport so I didn’t have time to argue.
What made it even more frustrating is that the exact same stain happened on one of my shirts, and once I got home and washed it, it came off easily.
3) Customer service (the biggest issue)
During my 7-day stay, there was no proper 24/7 support. The manager (Jennifer) only arrived around 9am, which is not ideal if you have early tours or activities and need help with directions, breakfast options, or basic guidance.
Unfortunately, Jennifer’s attitude was extremely unhelpful. Most of the time she simply said “I don’t know” to questions and made it clear she didn’t want to assist. This made my stay harder than it needed to be
