The hotel pictures is a bit misleading and the hotel could need an update, especially the main areas. Service ok. The reception is only open from 7.00-22.00, so if you check out early you need to arrange everything the night before. The WIFI is so slow and it is almost impossible to read the newspaper, just dream of streaming videos or tv. We had problems with the pressure in the shower and has to choose between taking a warm shower with no pressure or a cold shower with decent water pressure. Hotel room was a bit cold, but clean. We will probably not stay here again. Hotel located close to Mirabell garden, so it will take you 10 minutes to go to the old part of the city.

Rommet var lite, men med artige detaljer. "Rommet vårt" var nok inspirert av "Alice i eventyrland". Vi savnet forøvrig et lite kjøleskap og aircondition.

The hotel is quiet and the room was clean and quite roomy for an old European hotel. There are steps from the street into the hotel and it is a little dated. Staff is not there through the night, but helpful with our questions during the day. Very nice garden, social rooms and an honor bar on the first floor. Overall, we would stay again.

The room is so small and the facility is limited: no fridge, no water cups in the room. There was even no shampoo or shower gel in the shower room on the day we arrived. We complained next morning as no staff on property in the night and they replaced the shower gel/shampoo. It was the worst hotel we had in our whole trip. I would like to say that hotel could be ranked as three stars with maximum.

Close to the Mirabelle gardens/palace but a fair ways away from the old town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was overpriced for what it is (€24 per person). Room was clean and had a balcony. Placement of shower and toilet were awkward.

Schlichte Eleganz - ein gemütliches Hotel in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße zwischen Bahnhof und Mirabell-Garten / Altstadt. Beim Frühstück zeigt sich eine außergewöhnliche Gastfreundschaft.

Ein sehr ruhiges Hotel und 10 Minuten zu Fuß von der Altstadt entfernt - durch einen wunderschönen belebten Park , oder entlang der Straße gelangt man dorthin. Tolles Frühstück und sehr schöne Aufenthaltsräume.

Great location for walking or taking public transport. Big aged in many parts, and in need of a facelift. Even though Salzburg is expensive, especially in December, this wasn't great value for the amount we paid. However, no complaints about the room, public rooms small but homely, and helpful reception staff.

Absolutely Lovely 💕
From start to finish, it was an absolutely lovely stay. The reception was friendly and welcoming. The coffee and tea room was set up so nice- one could sit there and play cards all day if there wasn’t so much to see in Salzburg! There is also a bar and sitting room with a record player and great selection of records- such ambiance! And the fact that is an honor bar set the tone for the hotel. I have only stayed in one other hotel that had that and I love the trust and faith it shows in the guests and in humanity.:) Our room was quiet with comfortable beds and big windows. It was a nice 15 minute walk through “New Town” to the main square of Old Town. I would stay here again and again and again. Thank you for such a wonderful visit !

Perfect location, 10 minute walk from the train station and 5 minute walk from the gardens. Stayed here one night as a solo, female traveler and felt safe. Clean room and nice bathroom.

I would not normally leave a review for a 1 night stay. However my experience here was not good. On returning to the hotel in the early evening I genuinely thought the entrance door was locked after trying to enter. So I used the key as mentioned at check-in. This lead to whoever was on the desk shouting/berating me - in front of many other guests - because of me using the key. His tone was very inappropriate. You are paying the hotel you don’t expect to get this treatment- this person is in the wrong business if this is how guests are spoken to. It was perhaps fair for him to say something but the manner was totally unacceptable. Otherwise the single room was pretty basic but with a nice bathroom tv/safe - however no kettle or fridge. The hotel overall is pleasant and in an ideal location for both the main station and sightseeing. However now personally I wish I had chosen somewhere else to stay.

The hotel is in a good location with shopping and restaurants nearby. The staff was friendly and the common areas were very cool with a lounge, a bar and a garden. Parking is offsite but fairly close and the hotel gives a discount card to use.

Fine location, pleasant old building and lovely st
Hotel Markus Sittikus is very well-located near important Salzburg sights such as Mirabell. Not far across the river are the remaining key locations, including the Fortress. Initially, the hotel seemed very pricey, and indeed, compared to others we stayed in, even in Munich, it was far and away the most expensive. However, it was reasonable within Salzburg and the surrounding area. It's just an expensive city to visit. We enjoyed the public spaces (living room with coffee machine, bar, garden) and the friendly staff. Breakfast was bountiful, but very expensive and far too much for our appetites, so we ate there only one morning. Plenty of other options near by. Parking added to the total cost.
