Palmetto Trailside Retreat

Take a deep breath as you unwind at this stunning new plank-sided cottage in Saluda.

Located on the Palmetto Trail. The Palmetto Trail is a popular hiking trail and is easily accessible from the rear of the property.  It runs from the coast near Charleston, South Carolina to the foothills of Walhalla.

Being on the edge of this undeveloped land, and very few neighbors, allows many wild animals to occasionally wander to the property. Keep an eye out for wild turkey, and deer and more wildlife after dark sometimes pass by.

Drive into town, a short 3 miles, paved road, you will enjoy this vibrant, yet quaint little town. Have fun exploring and discovering the top-rated restaurants, unique shoppes, family fun places. For our adventurers there is the Saluda Green River Adventures for zip-lining, hiking, rafting, guided kayak tours to add to your most memorable getaway vacations.

.Located in the quaint hometown downtown area, Saluda  NC offers a charming blend of local businesses, historic buildings, and a tight-knit community atmosphere, making it a great place to explore and enjoy.

One of the fabulous neighbors is the Greenville Watershed, 30 thousand acres of pristine, protected land.  You might enjoy hiking or biking through the Watershed with all its 30 miles of scenery and curving roads.

As you enter the driveway up to the cottage take  in the lush green lawns and the beautiful nature that surrounds your getaway retreat home.

You'll enjoy the one level living space, open with cathedral ceilings. Plenty of bright lights with dimmers and fans make this home a genuine treat to relax in after a day out on the mountain trails.

Some of the special amenities in the cottage you will enjoy as our special guest-

Smart TV provides YouTube, Netflix, Disney, and Apple TV with your own log on info.

Each room has a ceiling fan, that turns on /off on the wall.

The front and back door lights are on sensors, they automatically come on at dusk and stay on for the night. They may be turned off at the wall switch near each door.

The Cottage space-

The open area includes plenty of space for gathering, a kitchen fully equipped with the upscale appliances and lovely padded breakfast bar chairs to gather for your dining pleasure.

The primary bedroom #1 offers brand new King bed, all cotton linens and plenty of pillows and comforters.  The ensuite spa-like bath includes double sink, granite tops and over-sized walk in shower with window to take in the sunshine as you shower.

Bedroom #2 also offers a King Bed and full bath ensuite.

The 1/2 bath in the hallway is convenient for all guests use.

Step out onto the glorious wrap around deck overlooking the green lawn in front and the surrounding trees in every direction.

Swing on the 2 person deck swing as you take in the fresh mountain air, the sounds of birds and beautiful view of nature all around.

Enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine at the table on deck at the other end...again, with lovely views and peace and quiet in this country setting.

Take a short 3 mile paved drive into town of Saluda to enjoy the unique shoppes, restaurants and coffee shops and mini market for last minute groceries needed.

Details for the Palmetto Trail  - Saluda Mountain Passage. Step onto the trails from your cottage!  Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 5 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

Take in a Friday night horse show and dine at the nearby Tryon International Equestrian Center is a short 21 mile drive from the cottage.

Saluda is such a cool, cute town.  So small, there is no stoplight!

The town has a wonderful small grocery store, Thompson's.  Be sure to check out the butcher in the back.  The store has pretty much anything you might need, even pre-made soups and entrees in the freezer.

Mewdlic's is a great wine store and is next door the the Wildflour Bakery.  The Wildflour Bakery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and does pizza on Wed. and Fridays!

Dining out also includes the Purple Onion, The Saluda Mexican Grill, and the Green River Eddy's Tap Room & BBQ.

Start your day at Wakey Monkey for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and smoothies. Located close to the Saluda Visitor Center. Stop by for local events and more on best places to explore during your stay.
