Sainte-Marie: choose an authentic Martinique



Staying in Sainte-Marie allows you to discover a different facet of Martinique.



The municipality is presented by Martinique Tourism as one of the cradles of Martinique traditions, with a historical and cultural heritage particularly linked to agriculture, sugarcane and rum.



You will notably be able to discover the Saint James Distillery, its Rum Museum and the world of sugarcane, but also meet the agricultural side of Martinique.



Every Saturday morning, the North Atlantic Agricultural Market – MANA brings together producers, local fruits and vegetables in Sainte-Marie in an atmosphere directly connected to the territory.

Facing the town is Îlet Sainte-Marie and its famous Tombolo, this strip of sand that appears seasonally under the effect of swells, tides and currents.



When conditions and site access permit, the Tombolo allows you to reach the islet on foot. Its accessibility varies depending on the season and natural conditions; it is therefore advisable to inquire before any crossing.



This clarification is important: it allows for dreaming without promising the traveler something that nature does not guarantee.



Between nature, beaches and discoveries of the North



Coastal enthusiasts will be able to reach Anse Charpentier, indicated in the current listing at approximately 5 minutes away. Known notably as a surf spot, it is however not recommended for swimming. Raisiniers Beach, in La Trinité, is indicated in the listing as an alternative for swimming.



Sainte-Marie also constitutes an interesting starting point for gradually exploring the North of Martinique and alternating between nature, heritage, gastronomy, rum, markets and tropical landscapes.



The objective here is not to check off as many sites as possible, but to take the time to discover a territory and its identity.

Things to know before your stay



The accommodation is intended for a maximum of 2 travelers. Animals are not allowed and parties or gatherings are prohibited.



Arrivals are currently scheduled between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with departure before 11:00 AM. A refundable deposit of 250 € is required by bank pre-authorization. End-of-stay cleaning is currently charged at 220 € and bed linens as well as towels are included.
