Cherry Creek Cabin · Near Garner, Private Trail

Cherry Creek Cabin sits in quiet hill country near Concan, between Leakey and Utopia. Garner State Park is about three miles away, and the Frio River is about twenty minutes by car. Lost Maples is about thirty-five minutes.



Inside, the living room is open to the dining area, with a sofa, two large chairs, a daybed and a smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a refrigerator and ice maker, an oven and stove, a microwave, a toaster and a coffee maker. There are two bedrooms and one full bathroom with a shower, window air conditioning and heat, Wi-Fi, a washer and dryer, and books and board games to borrow from the hosts.



Outside there is a covered wraparound porch with a swing, a hammock under an oak, two outdoor tables, and both charcoal and gas grills. The fire pit comes with firewood. A private hiking trail leads up the mountain, more than seventy kinds of birds come to the feeders, and the dark skies are good for stargazing.



For electric vehicles, a ChargePoint charger with a J1772 connector is on site, adjustable from 16 to 50 amps. Tesla drivers will need their own J1772 adapter.



Early check-in may be available on request. Every stay includes the Texas Hill Country Travel App, a local guide for exploring the area.



WHY WE LIKE IT

We usually suggest Cherry Creek Cabin for families headed to the Frio. Garner State Park is about three miles away, and the cabin is set between Concan, Leakey and Utopia. On the property itself a private trail climbs the mountain, and more than seventy kinds of birds come to the feeders. There is also an EV charger on site, which is rare out this way.

There is one bathroom for up to eight guests, and the second bedroom holds several beds in one room.
