Secluded Mtn Cabin, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Stargazing, Surrounded by National Park!

  • Bear Mountain Retreat is nestled on the side of the Blue Ridge Mountains on 4 secluded acres adjoining the Shenandoah National Park. The cabin provides the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy experiences like star gazing by the fire pit and hot tub and listening to the quiet sounds of nature from the screened porch. Located ~1.5 hours from DC and within 30 min of destinations like Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, Shenandoah River float outfitters, boat launches, wineries, breweries, hiking trails and more!

    The space:
    Our cabin is a peaceful, secluded, family friendly 2 bedroom 2 bath home with a loft (3rd bedroom) that includes additional sleeping spaces. Both bedrooms come equipped with smart TVs if you want to watch a movie while relaxing in bed.

    Guest access:
    You will have the entire property to yourself with ample flat outdoor space for activities and exploration. The home adjoins the Shenandoah National Park which you are free to explore.

    Other things to note:
    The Cabin is located about a mile up a steep single lane gravel road. 4WD or AWD vehicles with reasonable ground clearance strongly recommended and/or required depending on weather conditions. The drive to the cabin is part of the adventure!

    There is a chain gate that requires a gate code for guest to access the road up to the cabin. Code will be provided to guests prior to arrival.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and it was amazing!! The property is as secluded as it is advertised and has no neighbors in sight and the cabin is absolutely pristine..we will definitely be coming here again!!

Lovely cabin in the woods, nice and secluded. We booked this in anticipation of hiking nearby trails, but unfortunately it rained during our whole stay, so this was a good place to hang out. The drive up to the cabin is rather steep, so would recommend AWD.

Peaceful retreat

We loved our time at this property. It was comfortable and well appointed with unexpected touches that felt special. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for some peace and quiet near Shenandoah NP.

This cabin is the absolute best! It is gorgeous, was clean and homey, and had everything we could have needed and more! It worked wonderfully for my spouse and I, as well as for our three and one year olds! Everything worked as it should and Betsy was highly available for any questions! The area is also wonderful for local activities! We enjoyed our time for a week and are already saying we’ll need to go back again!

Great secluded spot!

This was a great luxury cabin nestled just outside of Shenandoah. It was big, spacious, bright and cozy. Lots of great touches and amenities in the property. We especially loved the screened in porch. Amazing spot for a relaxing getaway.

Beautiful Mountain Cabin…. the owners thought of EVERYTHING!!!! My daughter forgot her noise machine, but one was in the cabin, extra batteries available for electronics, honey sticks provided for the wonderful teas provided. One of our best Thanksgiving holidays ever

We had a wonderful New Year stay at this house. The abundance of appliances really stood out - the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. The bedrooms and fireplace area were also very well stocked, which made the stay extremely comfortable.We especially appreciated the private, secured area, which gave us peace of mind and a sense of seclusion. The hot tub was a fantastic addition and made our stay even more relaxing. Overall, it was a great place to unwind and celebrate the New Year. We would definitely recommend this property.

Amazing Cabin Retreat!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bear Mountain Retreat. The location is breathtaking, the hot tub and fire pit were amazing, and we even made it out to Sunset Rock a few times. The hosts were super easy to work with, were super responsive, and made sure that our stay was perfect. We will definitely be going back!

Valley View

Very nice, the house was well stocked to help you get started or if you forgot an item. Very clean and well kept grounds. We enjoyed wineries as well as the National Park and caverns. Very enjoyable. The Hosts were very receptive and responsive to any of our needs.

Exceptional Experience!

The property is meticulously maintained and provides everything you can think of. It's clean and smells so fresh! The location is perfect if you love the outdoors and being away from any noise. The owners were in contact throughout the stay and offered suggestions on local fun and let us know to contact them if we needed anything. This place is 10/10, it does not disappoint!

Wow wow wow!

Immaculate cabin! By far the most cleanly cabin ive seen. And not another human in sight. Truly a stunning property. Couldn’t see the mountains from the summer leaves but the property was so beautiful it didn’t matter. Thank you for such an amazing stay!
