The Space:

You step onto the porch and hear the river’s gentle rush, a soft soundtrack to the crisp mountain air. Steam rises from the private hot tub as the sun dips behind the Shenandoah peaks, and the fire pit crackles, inviting you to linger over s’mores. Inside, the log‑filled cabin feels warm and welcoming, a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the river and the nearby park.

Living space

The downstairs portion of the cabin is accessed through double doors at the top of three steps. Central heat and AC keep the interior comfortable year‑round, and fast WiFi lets you stream movies or join video calls from the cozy TV area, which includes a wide collection of DVDs.



Kitchen & dining

A fully stocked kitchen offers a fridge, stove/oven, and microwave, so you can prepare meals just the way you like them. A large deck provides space for a grill and a glass of wine while you watch the river flow.

Activities & amenities

When the weather is warm, the river invites swimming, tubing, kayaking, and fishing for bass and channel catfish. In cooler months, the hot tub and fire pit become the centerpiece of outdoor enjoyment. The property also includes a fast WiFi connection and a DVD library for indoor entertainment.



Location & nearby attractions

River Lodge sits directly on a 1,200‑foot stretch of the Shenandoah River, minutes from Shenandoah National Park’s hiking trails and scenic vistas. A 10‑minute drive brings you to downtown Luray, where you’ll find breweries, restaurants, shops, and the famous Luray Caverns.



Pet policy

Dog‑friendly – you may bring your furry companion to enjoy the river and the cabin’s outdoor spaces. For allergy and maintenance reasons, we’re unfortunately unable to host cats.



Additional notes

The upper portion of the cabin is unfinished and off‑limits; please stay within the downstairs area and use only the designated deck. The retreat includes three other small cabins about 150 feet away, so you may see other guests enjoying the river, but the property’s size ensures plenty of private spots. Cleaning staff sweep the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, though natural leaves and pollen may still be present, especially in certain seasons.
