The Pros: 1) The bathroom was very clean, the hot water very hot, and good water pressure in the shower. 2) The valet staff are really great--special shoutout to Kenneth, who was very flexible and accommodating with a lot of in-and-out we had to do. 3) The neighborhood is cute, walkable, and has lots of great independent restaurants, bars, and cafes. 4) The bed was comfortable and the sheets and pillows looked and smelled clean.
The Cons: 1) The room itself was only surface cleaned. We found a used Q-tip behind the trashcan, an empty beer bottle under the bed, an empty water bottle behind the tv stand, another one behind the far nightstand, and a very strange metal container under the mattress, which the cleaning staff should have noticed when they changed the sheets; further, the hard-to-vacuum areas were very dusty and, frankly, gross. 2) There is a severe lack of easily accessible electrical outlets for charging devices (which is why we were poking around in the dusty corners of the room) and the ones that were accessible didn't always work well. 3) Parking is very expensive: $45/night for valet (w/ unlimited in and out), or $35 for self-park in the hotel garage with additional charges for each entry and exit, and the front desk makes vague hints about vandalism to discourage parking in the garage across the street ($15/night, well lit, other cars were there, but exact change, cash only). All in all, a somewhat disappointing stay.
