A welcome getaway in an inspiring setting
Paolo could not have been a better host. He was helpful and present, without being overbearing. The love he has for his place and his genuine kind demeanor and interest in people makes for a great stay. He went above and beyond, securing reservations, suggesting hikes, and welcoming us to his property. The grounds are incredible and the cabins are exactly as depicted in the materials provided online. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Azores. Location was perfect for exploring the island. Always felt like coming home when the day ended.

The property is beautiful and the view amazing. Our little house was filled with all the amenities and we used the BBQ several evenings to enjoy our deck. After a day exploring the island it was nice to unwind with a glass of wine and enjoy the ocean view. Paulo is a gracious host that provided valuable advice for our stay on the island. Paulo also convinced this Canadian to get on WhatsApp. Thanks Paulo.

Central location at a protected rocky beach
Great launching point for exploring the island, 25 mins to Porto Delgado airport. Direct access from the house to a black lava stone beach with natural protected swimming hole. Property has 4 small cabins with porches, “Glammping” with fresh ocean breezes, very relaxing. Friendly host family. Close to Wonderful hot springs, hikes and swimming spots across the island, and wonderful beef and seafood

A tranquil, beautiful stay at Azores Oasis!
Our stay at Azores Oasis exceeded our expectations. First of all, Paulo is an excellent host! The property is quiet, peaceful and just a minute walk to beautiful ocean views. Our accommodations were clean offered with every amenity: a small kitchen with coffee maker, dining table, sitting area and a lovely deck with table and chairs, and a bbq overlooking the beautiful gardens and well kept outdoor spaces. If we had a question, Paulo was quick to answer via Whatsapp. He also set us up with a rental car for the week. Overall, Azores Oasis is located very close to Riberia Grande and was a great location for seeing all parts of the island. We were sad to leave, but look forward to returning again. 10/10 for Paulo and his family for making our stay so memorable and amazing. Obrigada!

Beautiful property in Private Setting by the Sea
The pictures and descriptions do not do this place justice. It's the perfect basecamp for exploring the island. The accommodations are four stand-alone studios, each with a small porch with table and chairs. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need, and everything was clean, comfortable and wonderful. The area is stunning. Watching and listening to the waves crash against the shoreline provides a marvelous escape. I just can’t say enough!

Excellent Stay
I had a great time at Paulo’s property. The bungalow was charming, clean, with an excellent view of the beach at the end of the property. Central to lots of the attractions on the island, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Paulo helped me with my car rental and answered all my questions during my stay. Oasis in Sao Miguel
We really enjoyed our stay. Paulo was so helpful with recommendations for activities and restaurants. He picked us up from the airport and also arranged a car for us for the week. When we were leaving, we just dropped our car off and were shuttled to the airport free of charge. Paulo’s property is quiet and absolutely beautiful. You can walk down to chairs that are by a hot tub and look over the Atlantic Ocean. There is even a path to the beach. We loved our stay and will definitely be coming again.

Peaceful and simple with gorgeous views
We really enjoyed our time at Paulo's place. The property is well-maintained and peaceful (we had the garden view with flowers and birds). And the best part is the deck overlooking the ocean - complete with a hot tub. Each of the 4 'tiny houses' come with a private front porch / deck. The unit is simple and has everything you need: Storage and closet space Kitchenette Dining and living space combo Bed with built-in lights and storage Bathroom with shower Oscillating floor fan Privacy curtains WiFi The location is good, just a short drive in either direction for restaurants or groceries. Paulo offers laundry pickup and delivery during the week. Paulo's directions and suggestions for places to visit and things to do really helped. And he was easily available through WhatsApp to connect during the day. We would recommend his place and will stay there again.

Beautify and thoughtful spot to stay on the island.
We adored everything about the Azores. Paulo’s place was a delightful home base for us and a lovely finish to each day after driving and hiking the island. The grounds are lovely and the hot tub overlooking the sea is a treat. Communication with Paulo is very quick and he is helpful with car reservations and transfers. Our only issue was with the check-in process. Check in is not allowed until 5:00. That’s very late on our opinion. It is also not possible to leave bags or access the grounds (which are large) until that time. This seems unnecessarily inflexible for those travelling overnight from North America. The only way around this is to book an extra night in advance of arriving, which feels punitive.

Perfect place to be!
Very exklusive and nice location, 4 tiny houses on the whole area. Nice view and sleeping with the sound of Atlantique. Jacuzzi with the best view! If it is possible, rent the "bubble"! The tiny houses have all what you need. Kitchenette, bathroom, veranda- everything is fine. Paulo and Anabel are very nice and friendly people. We rented a car via Paulo, best choice. We will defintly come back!

A bit of paradise on Sao Miguel
Our experience at this property could not have been better. From the well-appointed, extremely comfortable bungalows, to the gorgeous setting on a small peninsula jutting out into the ocean, It provided a soothing retreat after a day of taking in the island sights. Equally delightful was just spending time on the grounds, enjoying the surf, the hot tub, and beach. Added bonuses were the itinerary Paulo provided as a guide to the many beautiful places on the island, and his warmth and helpfulness thoughout our stay. We'd return again!

Magnificent property, wonderful host!
This bungalow is located on spectacular property, centrally located on the island to allow for easy exploration. The space was great for the two of us, nicely decorated and well stocked. The best part about staying here was the property itself. A long expanse of Gardens and Lawn lead you to multiple sitting areas and a hot tub from which you could see ocean on three sides.

Gorgeous property and location, wonderful hosts!
My partner and I had an amazing time here! The property is big and beautiful, with easy access to the natural pools. We also loved climbing on the big black volcanic rocks behind the property and exploring the tide pools. It’s in a perfect location in a cute little village on the north central coast of the island—close to the Caldeira Velha hot springs and the breathtaking Lagoa da Fogo. Paulo was such a gracious host, picking us up from the airport, getting us a discount on our rental car, and sitting down with us to help us plan an itinerary. Please be aware that there are 3 other bungalows on the property so it is only semi-private. There is also no air conditioning in the bungalows but we were cool at night with the windows open. Such a special place!

Our host Paulo far exceeded our expectations! Not only did he pick us up from the airport, but also arranged our car rental, dinner reservations, and even asked us what groceries we would like to have him buy for us ahead of time. Paulo spent a lot of time showing us around the property when we arrived and even sat down and explained all the different things and hikes to do around the island..He was exceptional! The property was off the charts beautiful too. I can’t say enough about our stay. Everything was top-notch! I have already recommended Paulo’s property to friends who plan on coming to Sao Miguel.

Paulo is very kind and goes above and beyond for his guests. The property is quite big and extends all the way down to the ocean and is adjacent to a public beach. As someone who found it challenging to build condensed itineraries for the island, I found it especially helpful that Paulo had pre-planned itineraries which he personally walked us through. Although I would say that renting an individual bungalow is ideal for couples/pairs, Paulo also owns a hostile in Ponta Delgada that we saw and it looked very nice for solo travelers!

Where do I even start? My husband and I spent the most incredible week at this property. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen the perfect place to stay. The property owner, Paulo, met us when we arrived with a few groceries, which was very appreciated after an overnight flight. He was a wealth of information and extraordinarily helpful. He’s put together a great folder of information about the area, suggested restaurants, even itineraries that are thoughtfully crafted to allow you to make the most of your time on Sao Miguel. The property itself is just amazing. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. Perched on a beautiful point with a beach below with natural pools that are perfect for swimming… even with 15 foot waves crashing on the rocks behind, the natural pools remain calm and wonderful. I would recommend wearing water shoes as the rocks can be a bit uncomfortable to walk on in bare feet. The accommodations are four square stand-alone studios, each with a small porch with table and chairs. They are just the coolest and very comfortable. Paulo thought of absolutely everything, from USB ports built into the bed frame for charging phones without the need for a plug adapter, to bench seating that can be turned into an additional sleeping space. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need, and everything was clean, comfortable and wonderful. The area is stunning. I mean Absolutely. Totally. Incredibly. Stunning. I just can’t say enough!

Underbart ställe med en fantastisk utsikt och en service som var outstanding.
Paulo var en enastående värd som löste alla upptänkliga problem och var alltid nåbar. På grund av strejk kom vi ett par dagar för sent, där stod vi på flygplatsen och hyrbilen fanns inte kvar. Ringde Paulo som genast kom och hämtade oss, fixade bil, körde med och visade oss en affär på väg till det underbara huset. Huset var väldigt rent och där fanns allt man kunde behöva. Vi uppskattade verkligen att sjunka ner i jacuzzin och njuta av den fantastiska vyn över Atlanten. På egendomen fanns det flera trevliga uteplatser att sitta på. Paulo håller på att utveckla egendomen och nu finns det också 4 bungalows och en "bubbla" att bo i. Vi fick testa "bubblan" och det var som att sova under bar himmel men med luftkonditionering. En härlig upplevelse. Vi förlängde vår resa och bodde då i en bungalow som vi också trivdes bra med. Vi har aldrig tidigare mött en så serviceinriktad, vänlig och schysst värd. Han ansträngde sig verkligen och gjorde allt för att vår semester skulle bli så bra som möjligt.

We’ve had a great 2-weeks family holiday staying in this beautiful and perfectly located house. We can highly recommend this place. What we particularly liked was the location (convenient for day trips all over the island and directly at the seaside), the unique garden with the jacuzzi overlooking the ocean, the well-equipped house and last not least Paulo’s hospitality. He was always quick to provide any advice we needed and is really taking care of his guests (including pick up from the airport and even our first grocery shopping to help us dealing with the COVID-19 related circumstances). We also appreciated the cleanliness of the house including cleaning service after one week. Thanks again Paulo and we hope to come back someday...

Prachtig verblijf
Dit was één van de mooiste vakantiehuis ooit waarin we op vakantie geweest zijn. En de beste locatie ooit. Er zijn genoeg keukenspullen aanwezig. Mooie schone badkamer en slaapkamers. Maar het mooiste is de tuin. Erg ruim met vele zitjes. Er is zelfs een jacuzzi aanwezig, met ligstoelen, een terras met picknick bank. En ook een overdekt terras met een geweldig uitzicht. Je loopt ook zo vanuit de tuin naar het strandje. Tip, neem een snorkel. Paulo is een geweldige host. Heeft ons 's avonds om 12 uur van het vliegveld gehaald, en heeft ook de eerste boodschappen gehaald. Hij heeft een aantal mooie tours beschreven, die je of zelf of eventueel met hem kan doen. Hij is altijd bereikbaar en staat klaar met leuke bezienswaardigheden. Het is een prachtig eiland die absoluut nog een keer gaan bezoeken. We zijn nog lang niet uitgekeken. Paulo, thank you so much. Oh What A View
The ocean front view from this property is spectacular. Centrally located on the Northern side of the island on a quiet street, its the perfect stay for relaxation and exploring. Watching and listening to the waves crash against the shoreline provides a marvelous escape. The house is well furnished and the host, Paulo, is helpful and dedicated to making your stay outstanding. We would definitely return to this property

This property situated near Ribera Grande, was perfect. Paulo was an excellent host, picking us up from the airport and taking us back at the end of our trip. We rented a car from him, which was a good decision, as the GPS in the car made it very easy to get around. The house has a hot tub which looks over the ocean. This is a wonderful place to be at sunset. The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy for us to make some of our meals. There was plenty of hot water and comfortable beds.

Christmas in the Azores
São Miguel. Imagine Ireland with volcanoes-the continent without the crowds. Always an adventure to be found around the next bend in the island's challenging yet delightful narrow roads. We felt right at home in Paulo's "Azor' Oasis São Miguel Ocean" charming seaside home, a quaint two-bedroom abode made of local stone and offering all the comforts (and more) one would find in an upscale downtown hotel. Paulo was a gracious host who made our arrival and departure virtually trouble-free. His knowledge of the island and the ability to speak at least three different languages was an unexpected and much-appreciated bonus to our most enjoyable stay on Ilha São Miguel. Ocean Paradise
Second stay for us summarizes how we feel about Azores Oasis. We love going to the shoreline each morning and afternoon and discovering the remainder of the island in between. Paulo is a gracious host and tries hard to please. We hope to return one day after the renovations Paulo has undertaken.

High expectations exceeded
I am the definition of a frequent flyer, typically spending 150+ days a year on the road (mostly business, but my wife joins me, for business and pleasure, 2-3 weeks a year). I’ve stayed at many of the world’s top rated resorts and hotels, as well as rental properties. I have enjoyed a mere handful as much as I did at Paulo’s. From the moment he met us to check us in, with a grocery bag full of goodies in hand, he was a wonderful and gracious host. The property, meanwhile, is astounding. There’s the main building, with two bedrooms (and bunk beds allowing for up to 8, if you want to get cozy), and a surprisingly roomy and well-equipped kitchen. I wish we’d gotten around to using the wood-fires pizza oven but we used everything else. The large and completely private garden patio, with raised dining deck, would. E enough to satisfy most travelers...but when you open the back door you discover a yard that extends several 100 yards back to the ledge overlooking the ocean, with a path leading to the natural pools where you can take a dip. There is also a partially enclosed (and covered) patio room where you can stretch out with a local gin and tonic and enjoy watching the sun go down. (One of the delights is that the spit of land sticks out just far enough that you can go down to the rocky ledge and see both sunsets and sunrises! We’ve seldom stayed “on premises” as much as we did here... ...but when we did venture out we were delighted by what we discovered, realizing that those who are calling the Azores the new “IT” vacation spot are right on the money. No, it doesn’t have the night life or the art scene of a Barcelona or Portugal’s Algarve...which some will find a good thing. The cuisine scene is surprising good, and delightfully affordable. (And if you use Paulo’s Kitchen, the local Continente markets are very well stocked). Seafood is plentiful, as you expect, and it is worth trying some of the local specialties, like the limpets, bacalhao and wreckfish, but there are also restaurants specializing in the very good local beef and sausages and cheeses There is great hiking and biking, even kayaking in a vast volcanic crater lake. Furnas, as the town’s name suggests, has thermal steam baths. Another pleasant discovery: surprisingly affordable rental cars. Which brings me back to our rental, perfectly situated to go exploring — or to simply relax. This was a find of a lifetime — even for a jaded veteran traveler.

Great location in paradise
Paulo’s property was awesome. My family of 4 were picked up at the airport and brought to the house where breakfast was waiting on us. The house is in a very central location on the island which made everything so convenient. The ocean is a short walk out the back gate. It’s beautiful! The house has everything you would need and it was nice to use the washer and dryer after atv or horseback riding. There is a very nice new car available to rent with the house. It was so easy! I would recommend this house in the most beautiful island I have ever seen!

Amazing Views, Great Location!
Paulo and Eduardo were amazing! Paulo picked us up at the airport at 7 am and kept us entertained the whole time while we waited till 4 for our check in. It was a packed day and nice to not have to think after a full day of travel. The property was also amazing. It has private access to the beach and was so peaceful to look out every morning at the ocean. The kitchen is fully stocked and the meal Eduardo made our first night was so delicious. It's also not too far from the grocery store and pretty centrally located from all the spots we wanted to go to. Definitely recommend getting a car - it's pretty easy to get around, navigation was no problem. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back!

The kitchen had everything imaginable you need to prepare a gourmet meal, the beds were comfortable and the views and access to the ocean was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay on Sao Miguel!
The property was wonderful. The private access to the ocean and outdoor sitting areas was a pleasure every morning and evening. We had no problem getting around the island from the Calhetas house and found convenient grocery and restaurant options. Paulo and Eduarda were gracious hosts who made sure we had what we needed. A delightful hybrid of town and sea
A beautiful compact house on a small town street, extremely well-equipped and delightfully decorated, with a beautiful direct access to the sea's rocky coast. Lovely outdoor spaces including a roofed open air room perfect for early evening. Josie's email connections were warm and welcoming, and her manager Eduarda explained everything well and cooked us a delicious first-night dinner. (Eduarda, please send me your recipe for caldo verde!)

A beautiful home on an idyllic island!
We stayed in this beautiful home in mid September. Located on a quiet street in a small village, the spacious back yard ends right at the ocean. An amazing view of the north coast. The home is comfortable, relaxing and tastefully decorated. Josie is a great host. We were met at the airport and a home cooked meal was waiting for us upon our arrival. Her friendly house keeper provided a mid week cleaning. A great location from which to begin your day trips on Sao Miguel Island. Driving a rental car is the best way to see the island. We got lost a couple times, but the road signs are clear and numerous, so we found our way quickly. What a beautiful island. Only 20 minutes from the airport as well. We highly recommend this vacation home in the Azores! We didn’t want to leave!

Well appointed, little gem - pictures/ description accurate
We’ve had a fantastic family time at Josies - thank you for letting us enjoy your place for the last 2 weeks. As a family of 5 with children aged 8, 5 and 5 months we found the house very well equipped and the photos and descriptions very true to life. Any questions we had during our stay were quickly answered and Eduarda was helpful and the arrival dinner a great touch. The house was really well located to discover all of the island with everything we wanted to see being no more than 45 minutes away. As they say it is often the little things that make all the difference... here are some elements of josies that made a particular big difference to us as a young family: - proper cot with a mattress and blanket (not a flimsy travel cot). - Shutters on the windows so it was properly dark when the children went to bed. - The beach at the end of your garden - with naturally formed pools making it one of the safest beaches for the children who loved snorkelling in the pools. - The “hide out” over looking the beach. Meaning one adult could comfortable watch whilst staying “behind” with the baby. Lovely spot, great view, and cool breeze! - That the house has a closed in courtyard. Kids had a great time following geckos and playing with water and we knew they were enclosed and safe. - the top terrace had a lot of use, great for a lovely breakfast. - The very kind help of Josie and Eduarda in organising a personalised home made cake to be delivered for my daughters birthday. Thank you for everything.

Amazing People, Amazing Property and Amazing Place!
My husband and I recently rented Josie's property with our 10 year old son for just under two weeks. We cannot speak highly enough of Josie and the property itself! From the moment we booked it, Josie maintained friendly, consistent and prompt communication with us. She also helped to book our rental car and arranged for Connie to meet us at the airport and guide us to the property when we arrived. Throughout our stay, she was also available whenever we had questions and offered helpful tips and suggestions for us as we embarked on our many island adventures. After an overnight flight, Connie was such a friendly and welcome sight for us at the airport, immediately greeting us with open arms. She took great care in leading us to the property, showing us around and helping us get settled in. She even took us grocery shopping while the property was readied by the housekeeper, Eduarda. Eduarda was also incredibly friendly and kind to us, including making a delicious meal for our first evening in the home. During our midweek cleaning, she also prepared us another delicious meal and was such fun company. We so enjoyed our time with both Eduarda and Connie, they truly helped us feel right at home as we settled in! The property itself was perfect for our stay, it was comfortable, well maintained, and truly had everything we needed. We loved exploring the expansive grounds and taking in the peaceful, picturesque views. In addition, the location of the property provided a great jumping off point to explore the island. We were able to take in so many of the amazing sights that the island has to offer, including hiking, swimming in waterfalls and hot springs, whale watching, swimming with dolphins, etc. It was an unforgettable vacation and we cannot speak highly enough of Josie and her property! We look forward to visiting Sao Miguel again soon!

Liz, your five star rating plus such a elaborate beautiful review of this holiday home and my service is humbling. The warm welcome was the least we could do for such an early morning flight arrival. We understand that landing at 6:00 am after an overnight flight all one desires and wants is a comfortable place to unwind. With this in mind, we always prepare for very early morning checking-ins, this as long other guests are not checking-out on the same day; in which case, besides the airport greeting and showing the way to the home's location, when possible we provide assistance to help pass the time as the home is being prepared for the 4:00 pm checking-in. Your understanding amazing and super friendly easy going nature facilitated and made it easy and all turned out great. I am delighted to know that enjoyed yourselves and that everything about this home met your expectation, as well beside our good drinkable tap water; the bottled water cooler convenience was also put to good use. Eduarda loved the experience and was left sad that she could not make good on her offer to make your son more of the Sao Miguel bolo de sertão / corn flour flat bread that he so much enjoyed. His sweet note along with the well appointed Mickey's target made for a good chuckle! An unforgettable absolute pleasure to host your stay; I remain ready to host yours and welcome all that come your way! Until then I send you an ocean filled of sunshine and big warm Azorean hugs.
