«Kate was super helpful getting me a quiet room in a nearly full occupancy situation. Check in and check out was excellent. Friendly staff, clean room, abundant breakfast with variety choices. No daily room cleaning which was fine for me. Convenient location. I took off one star due to the squeaking mattress. Every time when I got up or turned in bed, it always made loud noises. Hopefully they will correct that soon.»

Being a basement apartment made it difficult to rest due to host up doing construction or something quite early ior late 4 a.m. however you look at the situation. Hot tub was on the upstairs deck which wasn’t very private even though there were curtains on either end. The house windows were still available to be seen by anyone who chanced to look. «The Hager Hideaway is in the middle of everything and is a quiet, restorative oasis on its own. The 1830's farmhouse is absolutely charming and very cozy. We could have spent the entire weekend exploring Harrodsburg, but Bardstown is only an hour away via scenic back roads (less if via the Bluegrass Parkway), so we HAD to spend a day there.
