«The facility is an old hotel whose rooms have been updated. They still have the creaky old floors, though there are rugs on them now. We choose to stay there knowing that, and because it was one block away from the Nauvoo Temple. The bed was great. We had to drive to another facility where we checked in and where the free breakfast was.»

«Unfortunately, it is very dark where the motel is. Pulling in, we were very uncomfortable. Had we been able to get a refund, we would have left. However, the owner put us at ease and told us we were safe. She is very careful handling ice, and we were grateful for that. We did sleep well. Not much for breakfast so got a cup of coffee and left in the morning.»

«Pros:- Everything important was clean (sheets and bathroom)- The location was amazing: gorgeous view of the river, quiet space out in nature, and super close to Nauvoo- Check-in and check-out were smooth and easyCons:- Most of the rental was covered in years' worth of dirt and grime- The cabin had an extremely strong mildew smell. It was so strong that I had a hard time sleeping at night. - One of the window A/C units was unusable because of mold»

«To be very honest the property is not what I expected from the listing. However, after getting settled in and the excellent communication with the host, the 6-week stay was very pleasant. The host was wonderful and checked on us on a regular basis. Host was very quick to fix any issues and was also very quick in all responses. They made us feel welcome. «Historic Nauvoo. What a neat little town. Everyone was extremely friendly. The property is good value for the money. If you park on the Main Street, it’s easy to find. The alleyway from the front is level concrete and well lit. We parked in back as we were instructed. It was a little confusing at first, until I reread the instructions. The concrete alleyway from the back is uneven and not as well lit. But the town is a safe one, so security is already felt. The stairs to the upper apts ...

«This was a 150+ year old pioneer home, with period-appropriate furnishings. The kitchen has been updated to modern appliances. The bathrooms are also updated. The bedrooms have comfortable beds for getting a good night’s sleep. It is located in a pioneer-era historic area. If you want restaurants nearby, or boutique shopping, forget it. Go with the pioneer atmosphere and experience the location and history. It may give you a whole new outlook about how our ancestors lived.»
