«it’s more like staying at a fancy cabin at a park than it is staying at a resort, but if you come to hike and enjoy peace and quiet, you’ll love it just like we did. The only problem we had was there was no staff available, and we had no signal to call anybody, but once we figured out how to make the Wi-Fi work, it was fine.. just be aware, if you’re expecting fine dining and a spa day, you will be disappointed. This is rustic, out in the country, and you’re pretty much on your own.»

«No this wasn't a great experience, we had to find the office and locate our keys in the cabin, which was fine. Next we get to our cabin, only one bed, there were two of us both men, the picture showed a loft with a bed above another, we tried to order pizza but they were already closed. Also thought it was odd that there was no TV in the room I understand this is glamping but I still expected more than a small mini fridge and a single queen size bed, one end table and some coat hangers»

«The Utopia River Retreat was just what we needed after 3 nights camping out in Big Bend. The cabin we stayed in (Kickapoo) was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed (cooking utensils, bath towels, linens). The grounds were peaceful and scenic and had a nice swimming pool and volleyball net as well as riverfront access. «The property is nestled in the Medina mountains in an 11 room resort and spa. The owners met with us each night sharing stories, laughs, wine and food. In the morning we hiked up the mountain trail to a cabin with a back deck that overlooked the hillside. If you want peace, quiet, no children and good old fashion conversation you will not find any better than Escondida Resort.
