This beautiful historic building is located near the Mississippi River. Upon checking in on 2/6/26 front desk staff was very friendly and informative. Located near the lobby is the Scarlet Restaurant. It was casual with an upscale feeling. All staff in the restaurant and bar were very friendly and provided excellent service during my brunch on 2/7/26 The prices for food and drink seemed about average, and the food quality and plating exceeded the actual cost. The parking garage is a little tight for a larger vehicle, so keep that in mind. The hotel room itself was clean and adequately supplied with towels, water bottles, and coffee maker. The rooms are spacious, especially considering the age of the hotel (1875). I stayed on level M in the hotel. I had a decent view of the river from my room. My only complaints about the room is the lack of refrigerator, but an ice machine was located nearby. I did experience some fluctuations in the hot water temperature, but really many hotels have this issue. The bed, pillows, and sheets were all clean and comfortable.
