Simply the best experience you can imagine !!
When you arrive to a true 5 Star establishment, you just know that you will have a fantastic stay: From we were greeted at the door from Tumi the first day until he sends us home full of new experiences for life the last, we were treated like royalty. However, Tau made us feel that way because it was like being taken in by a big, lovely family who truly enjoyed having its guests visiting. Our cabin overlooked a watering hole where we would see wild animals all day, it was cosy inside and always made comfortable by attentive staff. The game drives with Renain was calming, spectacular, picturesque, and a great joy to see more animals than I can recall all the names too. From breakfast through lunch to dinner outside in the Bomi our food was simply fantastic! We will recommend Tau to everyone we know, and will for sure return when we visit Africa soon again.

This was the best stay, wildly above and beyond my expectations which were already high. The entire staff was incredibly nice, professional and accommodating. Just to name a few, Morgan, Rosetta, Joyce, Rosetta, Poppy as GM, Lucia, Evelyn and Many, Many more including housekeeping and maintenance, were just top notch at what they do. Herman as a ranger was just so much fun, so professional and knowledgeable. You can tell the park cares so much about conservation while the lodge cares so much about hospitality. It was a blast. I can't recommend enough, and the moment I can I'd love to return. Can't thank the staff enough for making this an incredibly memorable trip for our family.

Schöne Lodge mit gutem Essen
Wir waren erstaunt, dass die Getränke nicht im (hohen) Preis inbegriffen waren. Zudem hätten wir uns gewünscht, dass die Autos für die Gamedrives nicht überfüllt werden, d.h. nicht mehr als 6 Pers. Das WLAN war sehr schlecht. Ansonsten war alles super, sehr freundliches Personal und das Wasserloch lockte viele Elefanten, Zebras etc. an.

Prachtig complex, geweldige verzorging en dito keuken. Safaris optimaal (inzet ranger en wildlife). Kamer gedateerd en eigenlijk ondermaats in vergelijking met het geheel.

Incredible experience
We really loved our stay in this hotel, as soon as we walked in, we saw lots of elephants and entelopes drinking from the waterhole which is next to the hotel, it was jaw dropping experience. We loved our reice a day fame drives too and were able to see all big 5. Were able to drive to animals really close. Food was also amazing and changed frequently

Ein Safariurlaub lohnt sich :)
Die Lodge ist an einem Wasserloch gelegen, dadurch hat man die Möglichkeit, schon aus dem Zimmer oder dem Restaurant die ersten Tiere zu beobachten. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und die Ranger auf den Safariausfahrten kennen sich gut aus. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet.

Tau game lodge was an experience of a lifetime. The staff was so nice & accommodating. I highly recommend this property. Our assigned ranger Derek was extremely knowledgeable, kind and professional.

Best Lodge by far
We stayed at 4 different lodges in the Madikwe and Pilanesberg parks. This was by far the best lodge, with the best views, the best safari guides, excellent food, wine, spa, and overall lodge comfort. We will definitely be back. If you can, ask for Mike Rae to by your safari guide. You will not be disappointed..

Best Safari and Accomodations you could ever wish
We spent 4 days of our honeymoon here, and we had such an amazing time that we cannot wait to be back soon. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service here is top notch. Having the waterhole in front of the lodge gave us many chances to see the animals up close while eating or resting in our rooms. But most of all, the game drives and the incredible variety of animals in the Madikwe reserve was the highlight of our trip.

Stunning lodge in magic location by a water hole. Staff excellent. Guides well informed. In particular Dylan was outstanding as a guide and the best I have had anywhere. Food good but not exceptional. Advantage not in malaria zone. Would recommend this lodge highly.

One night isn't enough
We only got to stay for one night as it was at the end of our trip on the way to the airport. The greeting and care that the staff takes to make you comfortable was excellent. The safari drives were also quite good. In fact with 11 South African visits we finally were able to photograph a Serval. The only minor negative was I'm a shower guy and in April it was quite cool and while the bath tub and toilet were inside the shower was not, so I had to wait until mid day to take my shower, not a big deal but it is what kept me from giving full marks to room comfort. One outstanding feature of all rooms is that they front the water hole. I mean no more than 15 or 20 feet from the edge. This allows you to enjoy the coming and goings of wildlife all day and night if you would like. Bottom line a good place to relax and unwind. We had just driven 9600km so we needed it. Next time we'll stay more than a single night.

Wow!
We had an amazing weekend at Tau. I only wish we were able to stay more than two nights! We booked the standard chalet, and were pleasantly surprised to have a balcony/patio with views of an amazing waterhole that several animals frequented throughout the day (variety of birds, crocodiles, kudu, impala, zebra, giraffe, and elephants). The food was AMAZING, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and our guide was extremely knowledgeable! Overall it was an unforgettable experience and we can't wait to go back!

Wonderful stay at Tau
We had an excellent time here. The staff were friendly and professional, the game viewing was excellent - so many lions - and the food was out of this world. We would definitely return. If booking again i would ask for room 3, 4 or 5 as they are well placed to see all the game.

pLAN TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR
Tau Lodge is located in the Madikwe Game Reserve in northwestern South Africa. My wife and I went to have the African safari experience and we were not disappointed. Daily rates include all meals and snacks, twice daily 3 hour bush trips (early morning and late afternoon), and individual rooms w/bath overlooking the water hole. You can sit on your deck between bush trips and watch as various types of animals meander into the water hole for a drink (we saw a herd of 12-15 elephants, warthog, various antelope and zebra plus birds too numerous to mention). Our ranger Megan proved very knowledgeable and entertaining who proved adept at finding numerous animals to observe. We saw 4 of the big 5 (elephant, rhino, Cape buffalo and lions), missing only a sighting of the always elusive leopard. Thanks to my wife (known affectionately in the family as "snake bait"), Megan even saw her first black mamba since she has been at Madikwe. Overall an enjoyable experience which we plan to repeat.
