3 sleeping areas: (Sleeps 8 guests) Main Floor: Queen Bedroom; Open Loft with King bed; Lower Level: twin/full bunk bed with twin trundle and a twin sleeper sofa and a Pack-and-Play. There is a full bathroom on each of the 3 floors. Popular amenities include Hot Tub, WIFI, Fire pit, AC, Wood burning fireplace, Linens and Towels included, gas/charcoal grill combo, regular coffee maker, private area, wooded views, and so much more!! The access roads are paved and the driveway is graveled.

Our cabin is not pet friendly. Sorry, but we are not able to make any exceptions (owners have bad allergies).

Bobcat Retreat is a quaint log cabin in the private Buck Mountain gated community (Wilkes County). Ideally located 40 minutes from Boone and Appalachian State University to watch the Mountaineer home games! Also this beautiful property is 40 minutes from the North Wilkesboro Speedway for all you racing fans! Merelefest, about 30 minutes away, is a longstanding mountain local festival and Bobcat Retreat is a great spot to vacation and see live music. The quaint town of West Jefferson is about a 45 minute drive and downtown Wilkesboro is a 35 minute drive from our cabin. Buck Mountain Community offers wonderful amenities to guests, including a community fishing pond stocked with largemouth bass, multiple species of sunfish, and channel catfish (catch and release). There are ample hiking opportunities to beautiful waterfalls and picnic areas, and a putting green. Guests are welcome to hike the ATV trails. However, remember that guests are not allowed to bring or ride ATVs in the community as that is a member-only benefit.

This charming cabin is graced with a wall of windows on the main level letting natural light permeate the living room and upstairs loft bedroom. Guests will find the stone wood-burning fireplace or outdoor wood-burning fire pit a wonderful place to gather. The wrap-around deck includes covered and uncovered areas to enjoy the wooded and seasonal mountain views and lovely sunsets while relaxing or grilling on the deluxe gas grill.

The fully stocked kitchen has a regular coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator (with ice trays) and electric oven. The family can gather around the dining table to enjoy their favorite meals.
The comfortable living room has seating in front of the wood burning fireplace (seasonal) and large flat screen Roku TV with streaming apps, including FuboTV, for you to use your login info. There is also a workstation/scripting desk for your convenience.

Sleeping arrangements:
~~A queen bedroom on the main level has in-room access to the deck and a Roku TV.
~~The upstairs open loft bedroom boasts a king bed situated under skylights, Roku TV, and with a private loft bathroom with a jetted tub and balcony overlooking the view.
~~Downstairs is a spacious room with a twin-over-double bunk bed and a twin trundle underneath. The lower level space includes a twin futon, Smart TV, and table with access to the lower patio under the deck, where the hot tub looks out at the sunset. There is also a Pack-and-Play for the little ones.

Bobcat Retreat has central heating and air conditioning for year-round comfort. There is FuboTV streaming service available on the TVs for live sports and TV viewing. Additional amenities include WIFI and a washer and dryer. Bobcat Retreat owners generously provide a stock of firewood for guest use, although this is not guaranteed as, at times, the stock may be depleted. If that is the case, there is a firewood stand just down the road where you can purchase firewood. Pets are NOT allowed.

One camera captures the driveway area, which is a level gravel circular driveway with plenty of space for four cars. NO cameras are pointed inside or near the hot tub. Winter travelers should prepare for snow and ice with AWD/4WD vehicles.

--Checkout by 10:00 am
--Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
--No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
--Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals.
--No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed.
--Keep outside noise respectable, especially after 9:00 PM.
--4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter- it is your responsibility to come prepared for winter weather. No refunds are given if you are not prepared for winter weather.
--Guest is responsible for any damages caused by intentional (non-accidental) actions.
--Host is not responsible for items left in the home.
