We stayed at Zel Punta Cana from January 14 to January 20, 2026. The hotel is located in the Bavaro area, about 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport.
The resort is brand new, modern, and well maintained. Check in was fast and smooth, and the staff is generally friendly, although service can be slow at times and English is not widely spoken.
The rooms are the strongest point of this hotel. They are spacious, modern, and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The balcony with a jacuzzi overlooking the pool is a great feature. However, humidity inside the room is noticeable, towels and linens look worn, and only one large bath towel is provided. The shower head is also installed quite low.
There are several large and clean swimming pools. The beach is beautiful and clean, with shuttle access from the lobby that works well. The beach bar and restaurant are enjoyable.
Food quality at the buffet is acceptable, but variety is limited, and items are not always refilled later. The resort has only three restaurants, with average overall quality. Entertainment is very limited, making the resort extremely quiet. There is no convenience store on site, and communication before arrival was poor, as emails to the reservation department were not answered.
Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. This hotel is best suited for travelers looking for a modern, clean, and peaceful place to relax rather than a lively all inclusive experience.
