This is an expensive hotel; the rating reflects the price-point. Photos of the hotel are way out of date. None of the rooms have a beach view, although you can hear waves in the distance. The hotel’s beach is not for lounging or swimming: it’s full of weeds, trash, and rocks. The manager advised us we could walk 10 minutes to the public beach to find an area for swimming, and we could rent a lounger there. We checked out the public beach; those loungers were filthy and crowded! There is a huge resort that has commandeered a large area of beach, and a lot of local vendors trying, fairly aggressively, to sell services or goods.
The hotel rooms are clean, as are the pool and hot tub. The staff are friendly and try their best, but the front office was often closed. It often felt as if management couldn’t be bothered to be around. Communications were very challenging: phone calls and emails were never answered, and we could only ever get help via the Expedia message service. The restaurant menu is limited, but all the meals we tried were tasty and nicely presented; breakfast was very good. Our room was very dark during the day, and too light during the night, thanks to the type of shutters installed in the windows. Furnishings were adequate but could definitely be improved.
