I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Checkin. However, there are few things to be mindful for those that are visiting this hotel as an English speaking traveler.
First of all, the property is not huge and as result there is limited beach front space available. However, the staff works diligently to maintain the property and there's always someone friendly at the front desk to help with any request you may have. It's not a 5 star resort, but its a cute little hotel where you can setup and have the option to check out the beach or local shops. Having breakfast available as part of the stay is also handy.
Second, IF you only speak English, it's a little tough to communicate as most of the staff are not very fluent (including the bar). In that case, ask for Danna at the front desk who speaks English very well and was extremely helpful! She was kind enough to help us with various translation needs.
Lastly, the hotel is located at the end of the street and its sometimes hard to find. There's another Hotel Checkin nearby and that leads to some confusion about the location. This could be challenging if you're trying to locate the hotel or if using Uber.
Overall, my family really enjoyed the stay and consider this hotel as a small gem at the Cortecito beach.
I will definitely go back in future.
