The property itself was beautiful. It was well maintained and there were always workers working on the garden. The room service/cleaning of the room was good. They even put rose pedals on our bed one night. There were lots of different options for food. The excellence club restaurant offers a Tomahawk steak with no extra charge!
Unfortunately, there were a few downsides to this stay:
1. There were 2-4 people in the lobby for excursions that would constantly ask you if you wanted to purchase them. It was a little overbearing and made me dread going to the martini pal bar/lobby for anything.
Related to this, there are constant vendors walking up and down the beach asking to purchase bracelets, art, cigars, etc. It was very difficult to relax by the ocean.
2. The rooms don’t really have any privacy. Walking out into the balcony, you can see the porches of all the rooms across. If you stepped to the glass of your room, you can look and see the lounge bed of your neighbors on both sides. Looking down, I can see the people on the swim up on their lounge chairs. I felt that it took a way of some of the intimacy.
3. The view of the ocean was very minimal. It was behind buildings, palm trees, and quite a distance away from our room.
4. As far as the excellence club goes - there was no special pool like most “clubs” have. There was a lounge, but it was part of the place where you check in.
The excellence beach was just a roped off part of the beach.
