My Hawaii

Great view and very clean. Parking was easy and open. Nice area for walks and close to grocery, shops and restaurants. The interior needs updating, the kitchen cabinets were coming apart, screens were ripped and bathroom closet door did not stay on the tracks.

Great view, Needs a remodel!

Great location but this condo is in desperate need of a remodel! The kitchen is original, and some cabinets are held together with duct tape. Bed was newer and comfy and couch was new so that helps. Carpet instead of solid surface floor (yuck) and the bathroom and kitchen were so old and worn out.

The view could not have been better.

We enjoyed staying at Pali Ke Kua and found the previous reviews to be pretty accurate. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the lanai looking out at Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai in the mornings and then again watching the sunset at the end of the day.

Amazing views and privacy

Overall it was an amazing experience with a view of Bali Hai in the distance. This property was for location. All amenities needed were available but very used and condition of cabinetry poor with doors not closing or hanging loose on hinges and formica chipped and loose. Bed was comfortable. Would stay again.

There was construction and loud noise in the unit above, soapy water poured into our balcony and the water was shut off for the day with no notice given. I contacted the 800 number and there was no person to reach.

Great location in need of maintenance

We loved the view but have stayed in better maintained units here before and preferred them. When the icemaker stopped working and water was in the fridge and the handle partly came off we called and someone came to fix what he could. But he couldn't get everything right. The owners responded to an earlier comment last year that they planned to take care of the needed updates, but they clearly did not. The counter top is coming apart and delaminating as an example of how aged things are. If the price were less than other units, fine. But others with granite counters were the same price but not available or dates.

Condo with a great view

Nice clean condo with a fabulous view. We had great sunsets. Kitchen was well equipped as we only made breakfast etc. Ordered pizza from the restaurant on site and it was great. The only reason we would not stay here again is the unit above with terrible stompers . We experienced two different families and the noise was awful. Next time we will be above love the area.

If only the interior matched the view

The view from this unit is great, as it is from most of the units at this complex. Although comfortable, it had the feel of the apartment you might have had in grad school where the landlord did just enough so you didn’t complain. The furniture was fairly comfortable but the recliner (primary chair) had a bit of a starboard list and kind of a creepy stain on the headrest. The kitchen was really worn - Formica cabinets are dated and barely functional (drawers stick, doors don’t stay shut and are misaligned), Formica counter is badly buckled at the seams, appliances work but are very old (oven is so old it has an analog clock and the labels on the control panel are worn off so you need to guess which knob controls which burner), refrigerator forms mysterious puddles of water on the shelves, and the tiny microwave is very underpowered. Ceiling fan in the main room has to be either off or on high speed as it has an annoying buzzing at intermediate speeds. The shower was nicely retiled but the shower controls were not upgraded, shower head is cheap, and curtain rod is rusted. The vanity looks the same as the kitchen cabinets but is in much worse condition. We have stayed at other units here and though they all have similar great views, this unit gives the feel of staying in the budget model.

1st floor unit with the best view in America

We’ve lived in Princeville for 4 months, in 2013-14 and stayed at Pu’u Poa as well as Pali Ke Kua before. The Ka Haku Road area is hard to beat for location, view & quality of units. Having said this, first floor units always have the disadvantage of people walking by your unit, and listening to the upstair’s units foot steps, noise and furniture movements. This unit has the original features except for a nicely upgraded shower. Kitchen and living area are dated. Compared to units around us, this is somewhat spartan. Again, with the view of Hanalei Bay, and Makana- it’s hard to complain. The cable is ultra basic; being on location during college bowls and peak NFL playoffs, we had to venture out for all of those. We won’t stay in a first floor unit again; but for most folks, you can’t beat looking out on Hanalei Bay.

The View Is The Best Part

The view was unparalleled — gorgeous! We spent hours just enjoying the view from the patio. The location was great and the complex very nice. The condo itself was dated and somewhat worn — though clean and well-equipped. We’d stay there again, but recommend upgrading the kitchen and bathroom and living room furniture.

Best views on the island

Best view on the island. People drove from all over to take pics of the view at sunset. View is worth the money. If the place had ac it would be perfect. The condo is also a bit outdated but the grounds are immaculate and your own private beach is worth the short, steep walk back and forth. The beach is not the best for swimming, but has great snorkeling. It is quiet and you don't need an umbrella. If you are looking for great views and privacy...this is your place. If you want sun, sand, shopping, people watching...go to Poipu. The town of Princeville is unique, private and absolutely paradise. There are plenty of good restaurants and grocery stores near by, not to mention some great golf. We were so happy we chose to stay here. After driving all over the island, trying many beaches, this was the perfect place for us. Please get air conditioning...the trade winds are nice but it wasn't enough to make things comfortable during the day after a long hike or golf outing. This place is so close to being absolutely perfect. We would stay here again.

Pro: Great location! Con: can hear every step someone takes in the unit above

Great location and Oceanfront Reality is great to work with. Cons (enough cons I wouldn't stay here again): - we chose a unit with a kitchen so we could cook meals; there isn't enough air circulation in the kitchen so you end up a sweaty mess when cooking - the McStomperson family stayed in the unit above us. We weren't sure if they were doing jumping jacks or playing Dance Dance Revolution ALL DAY. These people were up at 4AM and didn't stop stomping around until after 11PM - for this reason alone, I wouldn't stay at this unit. - the old, single washer/dryer combo doesn't have a hand wash setting so we had to wash our swimsuits by hand : ( Pros - the shower is updated and nice - the bed was comfortable - location is right above Hideaways Beach - the pool is nice, although it's a little strange that they have a restaurant overlooking the pool (a little creeper-ish, especially with the multiple surveillance cameras)

Already planning return!

Amazing condo right on the edge of the cliff, best views in all of Princeville, from your living room. Condo was clean, modern, spacious and great location. Very relaxing, nice and quiet, and loved having the pool. Sunsets from our back patio each evening were worth the stay alone. Would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on the North Shore!

A room with a view!

That really is the view from your recessed and private lanai. The views alone are worth the stay. Great location in Princeville above the beach and easily accessible. The pool is close too. Off the main drag, tucked in among resorts, other condos and even residences, quiet and convenient. Easy walk to shopping, lots of people out daily. Great spacious shower and on site laundry. Property has all the amenities, could use some updating and bigger coffee mugs- less time away from the view! This was an overdue second honeymoon for my husband and I. Will definitely consider this again. Loved the convenience to Hanalei and the beaches! The Sotheby's Oceanfront app is cool and a great tool to familiarize yourself with the area in advance. Even updated us to high surge warnings, events calendar etc. Enjoy!

It is all about the view

This condo is exactly as pictured. The best selling point is the view. We never tired of it. The bed is comfortable. There are enough fans provided to keep the condo cool. It is a short walk to the pool. Which we enjoyed, it was never crowded during our stay. The owners of this condo would do well to update the kitchen counter tops and cupboards. It would be that much nicer.

The view is spectacular!

Great view! We loved the access to the secret beach. Bed was very comfortable. Thank you for providing paper towels and soap. The knives were almost dangerously dull but we had plenty of kitchen tools to cook all our meals. Mahalo.
