Hvis du ønsker at feriehuset ditt skal være i en bortgjemt oase av frodig, tropisk løvverk, men likevel nær strender og restauranter, kan denne hytta, Pali Uli 8 "The Gem" være det perfekte valget.

Det er utrolig hvor nær du er til mange aktiviteter, nydelige strender på nordkysten og et fint utvalg av restauranter og kafeer. Og likevel vil det virke som om du er på din egen private øy mens du er "hjemme" og gleder deg over roen og roen i denne nylig og totalrenoverte hytta med ditt private "dyppe" basseng.

The pool was filthy. It was green and had to be brushed for 10 mins prior to using then wait a day. We had roaches, just two but both in the bedrooms.

Paradise

We couldn't have asked for a better location. It was easy to get around the island, and it was very quiet and so beautiful! You could feel the love in this special house. The house was immaculate and cozy. The lani with the dipping pool was terrific. The management company communicated well. I wouldn't change anything, and I plan to return and stay there again!

I didn't realize that the place did not have air conditioning when I booked it and even though they had fans everywhere, it was really hot during the day. The cottage is about 500 ft from the parking area and with the heat it was hard to walk with our luggage. Also when we left going up hill with our belongings was hard.They don't provide shampoo and conditioner which was very surprising to me.The location was good, about 13 min drive to Hanalei Bay which is where we went most of the time.

Family Vacation

The wading pool was extremely cold the whole time we were there, none of the 4 in our party could enjoy it, unfortunately …The vegetation is beautiful & creates much seclusion but it prevents the sun from shining on back patio or pool area, which was very disappointing

A Gem of a Gem

Overall it was perfect! The only problem was with the refrigerator. It wasn’t cold and some of our food spoiled. The food was expensive enough and to have it spoil was criminal! It was truly a secluded, beautiful and special place. We would stay there again and again.

It's at the end of a little pathway, extremely quiet and extremely beautiful. All of the listing data matched with our experience. The only thing that was lacking in our opinion was air conditioning. This place gets very hot and muggy. In the two weeks we stayed there it was very difficult to recover from the exhausting humidity and heat. I feel like our vacation would've been significantly better if we had the sleep we needed without feeling miserable throughout the nights. In our humble opinion his place would be unbeatable if it weren't for the lack of any kind of air conditioning. There was a mini split air conditioner on the wall but it did not work - something that should be fixed without question. Be prepared for the muggy heat if you choose to stay at this place.

Only negatives I would give it was there were fleas in one of the beds and when we reached out to management (twice), we never got any kind of response. Luckily there was another bed and it was just us as a couple so we switched beds. Also I wish there were clear instructions on how to maintain the pool's cleanliness. Lastly, the septic tank is close by the pool/kitchen window and will blow out some stinky water debris every few flushes! We would stay again but maybe after a couple of improvements!

“The Gem” lives up to its name!

For those, particularly couples, looking for a getaway from the rush and crowds of the resort scene, this is the place. It’s surrounded on three sides by forest, and you’re awakened each morning by the singing birds. It’s completely quiet and private. The dipping pool is a treasure, and really helps cool you off. The air conditioning unit didn’t work, but with the pool and fans we got used to the temperature and were pleased to have the fresh evening breeze come through the open windows. The kitchen is fully equipped and we were pleasantly surprised to find some nice-to-haves like plastic wrap. The washer-dryer unit was essential given our trips to the beach and hiking in the warmth, rain, and humidity. The master BR is a loft and open to the rest of the house; that greatly reduces privacy inside if more than one couple is sharing, but it’s necessary for air flow, and was perfect for us as one couple. It was very nice to have covered, designated parking, and to have a small, private community of just nine cottages. Perfectly quiet, which is so vital to rest and relaxation. If you’re looking for R&R, this is the place to stay! We will definitely come back again to enjoy this true gem!

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros: Good location as far as peace and quiet. It’s a freestanding unit so there’s no shared walls or anyone above you making noise. Bbq and beach/pool accessories are onsite.Fans in every room. Cons:The air conditioning is solar powered so expect it to not work about an hour before sunset. Hawaii is humid so it will get warm and muggy even in December for the first few hours at night. The air feels turbid without AC. There are nats and flies constantly within the unit. Cobwebs and dead flies are all over the place especially behind tables and floors. Geckos are hidden inside the cracks in the ceiling and even though they help with flies, you will hear them every night if you don’t mind. It is dusty around anything that’s not easily cleaned from the front surfaces. The unit is technically a two bedroom but the walls are wide open throughout so there’s no privacy between the living room and bedrooms. If you’re bringing a baby then expect to stay quiet if your baby is sensitive to noise in one of the bedrooms. The pool was nice to have but the sun never hit the pool deck in December. The step down to the pool is further than convenient. Be careful of a low spot where water doesn’t run off on the deck because it builds moss and gets slippery (small spot in front of pool). The walk down to the unit is on a steep grade and the furthest unit from the parking lot. (Groceries, luggage, etc.)The sofas were small and not very comfortable to lay down in. Conclusion:This place can be nice for some vacationers but it wasn’t what we expected. For the price we paid we thought it should have been nicer based on he description and pictures.Our second stay was far cleaner and nicer all around. And it’s was cheaper by about $50/night. Great and secluded

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had booked a place at Sealodge, then switched to the Gem. It helped us stay more isolated for noise (we couldn’t hear neighbors, and hopefully neighbors couldn’t hear our 5 year old). Place was great, clean, and had a beach trunk full of pool noodles, flippers, and snorkels. There’s more photos of the owner and their family than you’d expect, and a lot of Christian crosses, but maybe that makes guests take care of it better. Place could use a Yale code lock to avoid having to pick up and drop off keys at the rental office. The king bed was good enough, the couch feels rough to the touch- but is otherwise clean, there’s an odd stone threshold in the guest bedroom, and some gecko guano above the door frames. Overall great, would stay again.

Very private cottage…a real Gem

We’ve stayed at several VRBOs, and this is one of the best! The cottage is secluded, yet is located close to stores, walking paths, golf courses, and comes complete with its own dipping pool. It’s very clean and comfortable. It’s surrounded by lovely tropical forest all the way to the ocean cliffs. The kitchen is tight and the drawers packed a bit too full of kitchen items, but very doable. If we ever come back to this part of Kauai, we would choose to stay here again. Mahalo for the experience!

Beautiful “Gem”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the “Gem.” Lots of peace and quiet tucked away in a lush neighborhood setting, across from a golf course. The car was seldom needed as we did our share of walking.

Loved our stay and will definitely come back!

What a gem - we stayed in February and enjoyed waking up to the chorus of songbirds and the feel of the jungle was absolutely amazing. The toads could also be heard at night which made it feel magical. The cottage is very private and quiet surrounded by lush rainforest and very attractive and comfortable. We enjoyed the dipping pool although it was not heated but it was still warm enough to hop in.(74 degrees February) We had everything we needed and the neighborhood is stunning. Daily walks by the beautiful golf courses down towards Hanalie Bay. Cottage is very comfortable and inviting . Definitely recommend especially if you don’t like the hotel/condo experience .

Beautiful cottage

Secluded and private, so gorgeous! Truly felt like a home at the end of a busy day exploring Kauai. So comfortable and has everything you need. Check in and check out was very easy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A little piece of paradise

We had a wonderful stay at PaliUli #8, it truly is a beautiful location, tucked away from everything, while still having so much so close by. The house was well equipped and exactly what our family needed. Thanks for a great stay.
