Charming wood-frame house by the sea, large garden with trees.

The house was built in 2018 in a large garden planted with fruit trees and is rated three stars in the holiday rental classification system. It is surrounded by a spacious wooden terrace facing south/south-west, offering a lovely view of the garden.
On the ground floor, there is a lounge-dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a WC, and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, you will find a master suite with a large bedroom (140 cm bed) overlooking the garden, a shower room, and a WC.
The house is set in a green haven, yet is only about 500 metres from the centre of Portbail-sur-mer, a charming, family-friendly seaside resort in Cotentin, Lower Normandy. Portbail has a sailing school, a land yachting school, a small harbour and a long sandy beach just 2 km from the house. You will also find all the necessary shops, as well as a good selection of restaurants, bars, and services.
This is an ideal base for exploring the Manche region (Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin, the Bay of Mont Saint Michel, Granville, Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue and Tatihou Island, Carteret, Utah Beach, and Sainte Mère Église, among others).
If you enjoy walking or cycling, numerous footpaths and coastal trails await you! Bicycles can be hired at the harbour and in Carteret (we will be happy to provide you with the addresses).
From Carteret (about 7 km away), you can reach the Channel Islands (especially Jersey) by regular ferries throughout the tourist season (please contact the Portbail-sur-mer tourist office for details and requirements).
A few details regarding rent and charges: the rent includes all fees (including the provision and laundry of household linen), except for the end-of-stay cleaning (mandatory, payable on site, €50) and electricity. Electricity is charged at €0.30 per kWh (between about €10 and €35 per week in winter, according to the meter reading). We have deliberately chosen this formula with a moderate rent to give you flexibility over your electricity consumption and ensure fairer billing.
We provide bed linen (beds are made up on your arrival), bath towels, two tea towels, and a bath mat. All of this is summarised in the rental agreement, which we will send you when you book. If anything is missing, we are at your disposal!
Please note: The pellet stove is not available for guests’ use due to complexity of operation and refuelling. The recent electric radiators and the house’s RT 2012-compliant insulation provide all the necessary comfort.
