We had all included package. Food ranged from good to absolute boring (spaghetti with ketchup or fried rice with some pieces of chicken). And getting food took literally forever - super slow. Do not recommend all including package, eat dinner somewhere else. Breakfast and lunch was good. Location super nice. Very nice beach. We had a nice Also cottage with good cleaning service. Recommend the place but not having dinner there.

Very boutique feeling for a reasonable cost and definitely budget friendly property. The staff are excellent and they go out of their way to help. Menu with the all inclusive option was sufficient. My one suggestion would be for management to look into getting some new beds.

What we liked: Close to airport, spacious room, sea views, dining area. Improvements required: Service staff seemed unhappy (did they like hospitality work, need training or unhappy workplace culture?) and felt at times that we were a hindrance (the service staff unfriendly, unhelpful and felt like service was a chore). A few staff were obviously unwell (coughing and sneezing a lot) whilst working. We were also left waiting, not knowing if we would be served. When we asked a question about an order, we were not given advice but expected to know the answer. The Manager did introduce himself on the first day, helping with our bags. As we only stayed one night, we decided to eat at the hotel which was a big mistake. As noted by other reviewers the meal is overpriced and very average. My partner, a vegetarian, had a small cup of pumpkin soup, lightly coated fettuccine (no vegetables) and two small balls of ice-cream for 1450 Mauritian rupee (approx $50 AUD). Having stayed in stayed in Blue Bay previously, we recommend food at the Blue Bamboo around 8 minutes walk from the Hotel, with a great atmosphere and service and delicious meals or alternatively, if your up for a drive, suggest Le Bazilic in nearby Mahebourg, one of our best meals in Mauritius! The hotel was self was older and perhaps needed some updates however could overlook this if we had a welcoming and friendly service experience, which we had at several other holiday locations in Mauritius and Reunion Island.

True Mauritian hospitality
Astroea beach hotel is a cosy hotel managed by people who really care. They represent beautifully the legendary hospitality of Mauritian people: from the manager to the receptionist, the waiters, the chef and other people of their staff. They went above and beyond to help accommodating me throughout multiple plane cancelations due to cyclones and made me feel safe. I’ll never forget that. Food is delicious, beach is unbelievable and the whole setting really induces calm and relaxation. I chose this place for its proximity to the airport and for the fact that I wanted a comfortable way to end my trip. Mille mercis pour tout!!

Nice and quiet
The hotel is ideally located on a quiet area of tge island therefore the coral reef is in much better condition than other areas. The beach has sadly eroded. The hotel is cute and small and can be elevated to 4 stars if they give some attention to detail. So much potential. The Blue Bamboo eatery down the road is an excellent local restaurant serving delicious dishes.

The three-star hotel is acceptable. The highlight of our stay is the beach right in front, perfect for snorkeling with a fantastic sea view. The food is average, and I might not opt for this place again as the price we paid for don't match the amenities provided.

Nous sommes allés au mois de septembre. Accueil sympathique. Nous avions pris une chambre pour trois personnes. Chambres spacieuses et propres, lits confortables. Mais aucuns décors. Chambres tristes. Accès internet fonctionne très bien. L’hôtel donne directement sur la plage. Mais notre chambre était assez loin de la plage et donnait sur la route principale bordant l’hôtel. Premier problème, il est dit que nous avions droit à des linges et bien non. Il n'y en avait pas assez et l'hôtel n'est franchement pas très grand. La nourriture et bonne mais pas de très grand choix avec la formule demi-pension.

Une bonne halte
Sympathique structure bien située au bord d'une petite plage de sable. Propreté des chambres bonne, salle d'eau un peu ancienne mais propre, jardin bien entretenu. Gentillesse du personnel. Manesha et Antony sont particulièrement aimables, et très efficaces dans le service du restaurant ainsi que la jeune femme responsable de l'entretien de la chambre 103. Le petit déjeuner est bon et copieux.

Terrible experience
Dinner is just one small dish and one small appetizer, room very noisy and not so clean, forniture for the beach is broken and not enough for the guests. Breakfast is very poor. Employs are very rude and arrogant, receptionist the worst. The sea is marvelous but just it.

L’hotel a accepté notre réservation de dernière minute (vol annulé) pour une chambre pour 3 adultes à 235€. A notre arrivée a minuit l’hotel nous a envoyé dans un autre hotel. Ce dernier ne voulait pas nous loger dans une seule chambre. Apres négociation nous avons obtenu une chambre a 1h du matin!

Die Zimmer sind abgewohnt und renovierungsbedürftig.Die Fliesen,sowie die Möbel wurden mit weißer Farbe angepinselt.Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig.Beim Frühstück gibt es kaum Auswahl.Die Lage ist wirklich traumhaft,tolle Bucht.Allerdings ist das nicht nur exclusiv den zahlenden Gästen des Astroea Beach vorbehalten,sondern es kommen auch Gäste vom Holiday Inn und den anderen Hotels.(diese sich dann auch mit lauter Musik und Rauchen im Restaurant negativ verhalten)Was aufgrund der überschaubaren Anzahl an Liegen sehr grenzwertig ist. Ein weiterer Negativpunkt: es gab zeitweise keine frischen Handtücher.Die ersten 2 Tage keine Strandtücher und danach kaum frische Handtücher im Zimmer) Zusammengefasst:das Hotel in dieser Lage hätte potential.Wir würden aber nicht nochmal wiederkommen

Jeg vil ikke anbefale hotellet
Vi var en uge på Astroea Beach Hotel. Hotellet er rigtigt pænt udefra, men vores værelse var meget slidt, lugtede grimt og rengøringen var ikke tilfredsstillende (fx var der indtørret tis og hår ned ad toiletkummen). Vi havde all inclusive og maden og drikkevarerne var rigtig gode, men desværre var ventetiden virkelig lang, og personalet fik os til at føle os til besvær, når vi bestilte mad og drikke. Flere af medarbejderne er dårlige til engelsk, de er ikke opsøgende (som fx at spørge om vi mangler noget) og der var ikke mange smil. Der var dog også få af medarbejderne, der var rigtig søde. Vi nød at snorkle ved det fantastiske koralrev, der ligger lige ude foran hotellet.

Fine for a short stay
Small scale, friendly hotel. Rooms are to be expected from a more budget level hotel, meaning they're fine. The beach in front of the hotel is not as wide as you expect from the photo and it was pretty windy when we were there so I wouldn't say this is a place for a 2 week beach holiday. But - Blue Bay is walkable (long walk) or 5 mins in car + more wild Point d'Esney beach is closer. We only had 2 nights half board; food was limited and just ok. Service was very good.

Hôtel agréable et simple, idéal quand on arrive de l'aéroport. Bien placé entre Mahebourg et Blue Bay. Les repas du soir sont très bons. Les autres n'ont pas été pris par nous. La plage est petite mais si vous aimez le snorkling, le lieu est parfait pour voir des poissons . Peu de fond, mais il sont nombreux dans le corail pratiquement en bord de plage. On entend un peu les avions, ce qui est normal au vu de sa situation. Je recommande cet hôtel pour débuter son séjour. Le personnel est sympathique.

We were disappointed with the accommodation upon arrival. Our room was very dirty, black hairs all over the floor and bathroom, even shaving hair in the sink and stained bedding. We complained and they did a ‘deep clean’ of which all they did was change the bedding to different stained sheets and hairs were still everywhere. It’s a 3 star but there is no excuse for a dirty room. The staff were lovely but found out they are very understaffed and have to work long hours. The food was ok but you quickly got bored of the choices available. The setting and beach was very beautiful. We found out they had a sister hotel which was 4 star and they moved us a few days later which was much appreciated and a beautiful hotel.

Helt fantastiskt ställe vid vattnet. Man kunde snorkla direkt från stranden där det fanns rev och fina fiskar. Personalen var otroligt hjälpsamma och trevliga. Kan verkligen rekommendera detta ställe.

I thought the property overall was excellent. We were given a suite and this seemed very reasonable. The facilities are in good condition but the (British) electric shower unit was rubbish! Like many of the reviews the dining was poor and overly expensive. There wasn't sufficient quantity and frankly was just too bland! The curry we had just seemed to lack any spices! Continental breakfast was reasonable though. A small but private beach with good views.

The rooms are not together, they are build like little houses which is very nice and you have your privacy. The room is nice and big. But they do need to do a renovation for the bad. I also felt that the bedsheet and pillow were not that clean, which made me feel uncomfortable to sleep in the bed. The staff is friendly and helpful. Its a little group so it feels like a family to be there. Sometimes i felt like they push me to eat and have drinks in the hotel restaurant which was annoying. The dinner was very tasty but the portions were sadly very little. All around it was a nice stay and i would recommend again. Thank you.
