My husband and I stayed at Ocean Zen for a week and it's a beautiful and quaint boutique hotel. The staff are warm, friendly, helpful and do a great job at taking care of the place and guests. The view is spectacular from the 3rd floor honeymoon suites and the rooftop pool is gorgeous and great for photos :) There were only a couple of things that made our stay less than stellar, but they are definitely small in comparison to all of the pros of staying at Ocean Zen Suites. Our room was lovely and simple and the kitchenette had everything we needed to make fruit smoothies and other snacks/meals (there was a blender, coffee pot with ground coffee and sugar, microwave, and a toaster), but there weren't any pots, pans, or oven (which was totally fine). The only thing we didn't love about our room was that the bathroom is not totally closed, so that could be a little awkward Lol. The TV had apps like Netflix so we could sign in and the AC works wonderfully (a must with the heat and humidity of Playa Del Carmen). The location is definitely more of a local neighborhood, but we felt safe and walked to town everyday to try many of the great vegan restaurants :D La Senda, Chlorofila, and The Pitted Date were our favs! Bring earplugs though because there were nights when cats were yowling outside, dogs were barking all night long, or early morning marachi music was played by people outside. Other than those few notes, a local beach was a 7 minute walk and overall, we loved our stay!
