On Saturday mornings, the popular Peel Produce Market runs from 8am–12pm at nearby Leprechaun Park on the Dawesville Foreshore. It’s a lovely local market offering fresh produce, artisan goods, live music and a relaxed community atmosphere by the estuary.
To navigate around, here’s an overview of the area and its modes of transportation:
Private Vehicle: The most convenient way to explore Dawesville and the surrounding areas is by car. The location is easily accessible via the main road, and having a vehicle allows for greater flexibility in exploring nearby attractions like the Peel Estuary, Dawesville Cut, and nearby beaches.
Public Transport: Public transportation options are more limited in this region. However, you can catch buses in and around the town, although the schedules may not be as frequent or convenient for tourists. It’s advisable to check with local bus operators for specific routes.
Taxi and Ride-Sharing: Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are available, although the coverage might not be as extensive as in larger cities. It can be a practical option for those without a car, but it’s recommended to plan ahead.
Bicycles: Dawesville is a relatively quiet and scenic area, making cycling a pleasant way to explore nearby attractions, especially along the coastline and natural areas.
Walking: While walking is great for exploring local spots such as nearby beaches and parks, it may not be the most practical option for covering longer distances to nearby towns or attractions.
