From start to finish everything was spot on. I don't normally leave reviews but I really did a lot of research prior to this trip; maybe my review will help future guests make the right decisions. I spoke and emailed with DJ a few times prior to the trip. He was friendly and very helpful - answered all my questions and gave suggestions of things to do. He really put my mind at ease.
My family and I vacationed together the week right before season start, December 12-18, three adults and one child (mom, dad, grandmother and a 4 yr old). We wanted something family friendly - activities, easy food options, easy in/out of unit, easy parking, etc. We got all of that.
The resort is located at Mountain Village, between historic Park City and Canyons. We chose this resort so we could be away from the more adult-like bustle of Main St. and because it had the most green slope options right out the back door.
Mountain Village is a nice self-contained area. There is an ice skating rink, coffee shops, casual restaurants, several ski/board gear and rental shops, ski/board school, epic pass office, and a small convenience store. The local bus service stops in front of the village. The slopes are in the back of the village.
The unit was on the top floor of the lodge. The large living room window overlooked the ice skating rink - great for people watching after a day on the slopes - and provided a view of several slopes and lifts. We loved getting up right before sunrise to sit by the window, drink coffee and watch ski patrol check mountain conditions.
We rented gear from Jackson's Base Camp - literally the first floor of the lodge. Super easy. They even stored our gear every night so we didn't have to bring everything back into the unit. I bought Epic Passes prior to the trip and just popped into the onsite office when we got there and they printed off our passes. I also signed my child up for ski school - first time on skis and he LOVED it!
We rented a truck and drove from the airport into the village. We stopped at Kimball Junction and bought groceries before getting into town; however, there is a grocery store in Park City. I think it's a Fresh Market. Worried about an upcoming snowstorm, we left a day early and grabbed a hotel room by the airport. We drove into historic Park City twice. Parking was easy and free before 5pm.
Truly, everything was perfect. I highly recommend this unit and location! Thanks DJ!
