Pousada Bartholomeu was extremely charming. It is a beautiful and well maintained old building in the heart of Centro Histórico. Literally the town square is in the front of the building. The room was spacious and cutely decorated. The breakfast was very good, too. We did encounter a problem when the pousada lost our reservation, but they were never dismissive and worked to get us our room.

Como a pousada é no centro histórico, houve um problema na água e tiveram que alocar alguns hóspedes em outra pousada ou em flat perto da sede. Liguei para o hotéis.com mas como sempre a empresa nada resolve. Arrisquei e fui do Rio de Janeiro para paraty. Ótima surpresa. A equipe do hotel simpático e procurando resolver o problema. Em atenção merece destacar Luliane uma espécie de “faz tudo”. Simpática e gentil; não podendo esquecer de Alexandre o proprietário. Sinceramente foi a melhor hospedagem que fiquei na minha vida devido a gentileza de todos. A pousada ainda possui um restaurante em uma outra rua, onde se come muito bem. Merece destacar o gerente Antônio e o garçom Erivaldo que nos servem com perfeição. Da vontade de voltar a Parary apenas pelo excelente atendimento da pousada e o café da manhã fantástico e os seus dois restaurantes. Foi a maior surpresa da minha vida encontrar um ambiente tão agradável numa cidade histórica pequena. Isso se chama profissionalismo. Nota 10 em tudo.

Paid more than 200 dollars for a room in this "pousada" and the first time I needed to use the bathroom, it couldn't flush my excrements since there was no water for it. When I complained, employees told me it's normal not to have water to flush because sometimes they run out of it. For you that are thinking staying there during a romantic trip with your partner and not being able to flush after taking a s***. There is no love that survives this type of event. Unacceptable.

Estadia confortável na pousada. Me hospedei na suite casario, ampla e limpa com ar condicionado. Pousada bem localizada, no centro histórico. Nao dispoe de estacionamento, porém bem atras da pousada tem um cuja diaria paguei r$25,00. Cafe da manha servido no restaurante do hotel. Equipe gentil, solícita. Estadia muito boa. Recomendo

Minha quarta vez na pousada. Localização e equipe excelente. Gosto muito do restaurante que fica na pousada e o Primitivo que é deles também/ Café da manhã sempre espetacular.

Muito feliz com a estadia
A pousada é maravilhosa, atendimento muito bom, quartos amplos. o café da manhã é esplêndido, servido com muito cuidado para cada quarto. Os sabonetes, shampoo e condicionador dos banheiros eram da l'occitane! e o restaurante da pousada é igualmente delicioso. Para além disso, a pousada está localizada na principal rua de Paraty, melhor local impossível.

Considering we were in the historical centre of Paraty, this was a very reasonable accommodation. Despite being in a noisy area it was generally quite quiet, EXCEPT, when the excellent restaurant is operating, the exhaust fan is right outside the bedroom window. On our first night we asked about this and were told it would go off at 10, which it did. Night 2 the restaurant was closed, night 3, the fan did not go off until 11;30. Otherwise, the beds were good, the room was a good size and everything worked well. Try the restaurant - a bit pricey, but excellent.

Wonderful
Everything about the Pousada Bartholomeu was wonderful, great location, quiet room, amazing restaurant (we had the best food in Paraty here) beautiful garden. However, the bed was very hard. Apart from that, we loved our stay. Beware though, no cars are allowed in the old part of town, so getting your suitcases over the incredible cobblestones is a challenge, but well worth it.

Beautiful building, great room and location with friendly staff and solid breakfast. Can’t recommend dinner, though, which was disorganized with forgotten orders and one hour wait times.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Paraty. Highly recommended. The restaurant in site is excellent. Parking paid two blocks away..During the night, you can enjoy strolling along the cobblestone streets in this UNESCO Creative Gourmet City.,

Boa pousada no centro histórico
Café da manhã muito bom e variado, atendes educados! Porém o quarto tem cheiro de fritura pois fica em cima do restaurante Bartholomeu. Quarto limpo, chuveiro sai pouca água. De resto tudo ótimo.

Muito confortável, agradável. Tudo no quarto estava muito limpo: jogo de cama, toalhas etc. O café servido na mesa foi muito bom. O Jair foi atencioso. O proprietário Alexandre me presenteou com um livro da estante. Foi de uma boa e agradável estadia. Recomendo.

Excellent choice. We will stay here again. Breakfast is amazing. Rooms big and comfortable. Make sure you eat at their restaurant one night. It will probably be the best meal you have.

Fantástica!
Foi maravilhosa! Melhor localização impossível, funcionários extremamente atenciosos, ambiente familiar, restaurante magnifico e café da manhã fresco pois é preparado e servido individualmente. Ela atravessa de uma rua na outra, na frente tem o restaurante e é tranquila e nos fundos tem a praça, é agitado e tem um ambiente mais despojado para tomar drinks e jantar.

Festa do Divino
Fomos com o intuito de conhecer a festa do Divino e a pousada fica em posição privilegiada para tal. Entretanto, como em muitas festas, o volume do som incomodou um pouco no hotel.

A pousada só não é melhor em razão de ficar localizada sobre o restaurante da própria pousada. Daí que não há privacidade. Há barulho durante quase todo o dia e logo de madrugada também há barulho da cozinha. Experiência desagradável. Mas a localização é excelente.

Everyone at the hotel was really nice and helpful. Even though no one really spoke English and my friend and I don't speak Portugese, we still made it work and thought everyone was lovely. We arrived super early and the hosts let us check in 7 hours early as we were just sitting outside. On checkout day, we had to be ready for our pickup 30 min before breakfast began and they quickly accommodated and brought breakfast out as we waited. The location was perfect! And as all the other reviews mentioned, the breakfast was amazing!!!! Lots of people mentioned not wanting to stay in the 3 person room above the kitchen. We ended up in that room and even though there was a little noise from the kitchen, it didn't really bother us. We didn't smell the food or see into the kitchen as someone said you could. Overall, it was a great stay and we would stay here again.

Hotel with lots of character
The hotel is in an old colonial building which has been well restored and is in a great location in the centre of the old town. Staff are excellent and breakfast is magnificent! The only downside for me was the electric shower which wasn't hot enough, but I recognise the constraints in an old building and the character made up for it.
