Enjoy a peaceful break in the heart of Umbria. This charming, ground-floor studio is one of 3 apartments in Casolare, a beautifully restored 18th-century farmhouse. The apartment sleeps 2 people and makes an ideal base for exploring the surrounding unspoiled countryside, dotted with vineyards and historic towns.

The open-plan studio is divided into three areas by traditional brick arches. Timber-beamed ceilings give it a cosy atmosphere. The main living/dining area is furnished with elegant wooden pieces including a sofa, dresser and dining table for 4. The kitchen is fitted with a cooker hob, dishwasher, Moka coffee maker and fridge/freezer.

The private veranda opens onto the fenced garden, which has a grassy lawn leading to a swimming pool. Here guests can relax on sun loungers and enjoy their quiet surroundings. For meals al fresco guests can use the BBQ or brick oven.

Sleeping
The master bedroom has a double bed with a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. A glass door leads directly onto a covered veranda and the shared garden.

Bathroom
The modern bathroom has a glass shower, bidet, basin and WC.

Location
Casolare is in the small village of Migliaiolo, just 4 minutes from the charming town of Panicale. On the slopes of Monte Petravella, with medieval streets and squares, the town looks out over Lake Trasimeno. Visitors can enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants or for self-catering, Panicale’s weekly market takes place on Monday mornings.

More active guests will find plenty to do on Lake Trasimeno with a sailing school, water skiing, canoe and kayak hire all within 30 minutes. Alternatively, the Lamborghini Golf Club is only 11 minutes away. There are also hiking routes around the lake and in the surrounding hills.

The capital of Umbria, Perugia is 40 minutes away. It is well worth a visit, as is the famous town of Assisi (1 hour) birthplace of St Francis and a site of pilgrimage.
