We stayed at Beachside February 23-26, 2024 for a total of three nights. When we arrived late the night of February 23, we noticed that the bed had bedbugs. My husband killed some, which is shown by the bright red blood that came out of them when he did. The video shows a live one crawling. In all, on the infested bed, we counted about 10 bugs coming from the headboard area. On the other bed we found one. we tried to call the front desk to be given a different room, but we were unable to get anyone, so we slept in the less infested bed. The next morning, the desk worker came up to the room, confirmed the bedbugs, and moved us to another room.
Monday morning, the day of our departure, the manager was on duty, so we informed him of the problem. We showed him some of the bedbugs that we had collected in a cup as well as the attached video of the bug crawling. He agreed there was a problem, and another worker walked upstairs with us to our original room, saw the bugs, and informed the manager. The manager gave us a signed paper requesting that Expedia reimburse the full amount of our stay. After 2 months had passed and we still had no reimbursement, we contacted Expedia, who looked into it for us. They informed us that the hotel refused to reimburse us. When we called the hotel directly, they said they had had a pest service come in and they denied that there were any bugs. We are leaving this poor review because we are not at all combined that the hotel got rid of the bugs.
