Want to really get away from it all? Do you dream of a private place in the woods where you can disconnect from the world with unobstructed views of the San Juan Mountains? Then this is the home for you! Only 17 miles from Downtown Pagosa, you will be just far enough away to enjoy the serenity of nature and surrounding mountains. YOU MUST HAVE 4 WHEEL DRIVE TO RENT THIS HOME DURING WINTER MONTHS!
This custom built one story home has all the bells and whistles! A living room with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace for those cold winter nights and a wall of windows to bring in the light and scenery of the outdoors. The kitchen is an entertainers dream with custom cabinets, huge island, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. As you walk down the hall, you will find the master bedroom with king bed, a second bedroom with twin over twin bunks and third bedroom with queen bed. There is also a convenient laundry room with washer and dryer when you have a longer stay.
At the back of the house is a large outdoor deck that sets high above the ground so you can see for miles and miles across the countryside. In the morning have a cup of coffee on the sectional sofa while watching the wildlife and hummingbirds. In the evening gather around the gas fire pit table for an alfresco dinner while reminiscing with friends and family of the memories you have shared together. And, as the sun sets slowly over the mountains, settle down with a glass of wine or a warm hot toddy while watching the alpenglow and promise yourself you will remember this special moment. Life doesn't get better than this!
***During the winter months you must have a 4 wheel drive to get to the house.

Gorgeous views!
We had a fantastic time at this property. It was the perfect set up for us to kick back and relax in the evenings after hiking long hours during the day. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Home and Convenient Location
This property is in a scenic mountain area that provides lovely views from the back deck. The house has a nice layout and is well furnished. It has all the comforts you need to relax after a day of exploring and fishing at nearby rivers and lakes.

Quiet and nice views
We had a great time here. Tana, the property manager was excellent, often responding to texts within minutes. The only issues we encountered were minor annoyances, easily fixed. Dishes...: there were no tabs for the dishwasher, no drying rack, and no separate sink tub for washing dishes by hand. There was no hair dryer in any of the bathrooms, and no bathmats by the showers. Also the policy about having to refill the propane tanks if they ran out prevented us from grilling since refilling them would require nearly an hour in the car. Overall, we highly recommend this listing!

Do not stay
Roads were not plowed and could not check in. Ended up hiking a mile in snow storm, on a completely untouched road in a foot of snow to try and get to property. was unable to get out of the property and missed planned ski day. Was unable to work, due to no internet. half of the vacation was ruined. No internet for first 1.5 days. Property manager refuses to refund or compensate for lost time and ruined vacation. Do not stay here...

Great view. Nice cottage.
A little too far from Wolf Creek Ski area when skiing for multiple days. Otherwise location is fine. Neighbors are unfriendly. Saw lots of elk which was neat.

Disconnect from the city
I will like to start with Thanking the home owner for opening up their home to us. Very beautiful.
I'll start with the cons since there is more pros then cons.
Cons, home was hard to find. DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS. It will send you to very end of the community. After I communicated with the home owner, he sent the pin directions (property manager should of sent the map pin, but in my case she didn't and the home owner sent it to me). I was able to find home without reception. T-mobile reception does get lost. Once I found the home, I was able to connect to the home wifi and let the home owner and property manager know I got there.
There was white dog fur everywhere. Tumble weeds of dog hair were all over the floors, rugs, and couch. I had to mop sweep a few time to get clear the floors.
It was quite frustrating getting the fur off our clothes.
Gnats flyes were everywhere. They were crawling all over the windows, bathroom and master room bed. They get through the window mesh screen.
Wear repellent- mosquitoes were everywhere outside.
Thermostat didn't work. Thank God for the outdoor breeze.
Alittle dusty, cobwebs need to be removed.
Pros:
Quite neighborhood, Tranquillity at the max.
Beautiful humming birds. The view is breath taking. Watching the sunrise was amazing. Wild turkeys roaming around the property, such a beautiful sight. Deers were spotted a few times.
Had dinner outside on the patio, watched the sunset. (Wear repellant).
Beds were confortable, bathrooms were clean. TV works, no issues with the wifi kitchen was amazing. (All the food that is in the pantry is expired do not eat. Lol just saying). Laundry room was a big plus.
Patio furniture was nice.
Pagosa spring town nearby.
Perfect get away vacation rental.
Reminder it is in the woods, bugs are everywhere. If your not a nature person, rethink your location.
Me and my husband enjoyed our stay. We needed this 100%
