Our Christmas family vacation at Hyatt Place Page was ruined by shocking management failure. We booked two rooms for 4 adults and 4 kids. One room was under my name, the other under my friend’s name. By coincidence, another guest with the same name as my friend l checked in earlier than us on the same day.
Despite that guest telling the front desk they only booked ONE room, staff forced them to take keys for two. A simple check of a confirmation number, payment info, or emails would have prevented this, but the staff was too hurried and lazy to verify.
When we arrived, we were told the hotel was full. Instead of taking accountability, the front desk was cold and dismissive. They gave us contradictory stories, claiming the other guest "refused to come down," then saying they were "out for dinner." With four tired children in the lobby on Christmas Day, staff actually suggested we "find another hotel" because they refused to resolve their own mistake.
We were forced to wait until past 9 PM. When the other guests returned, they were incredibly kind and confirmed the hotel had pressured them into taking the extra room. Despite this 1.5-hour ordeal, the staff and the senior staff the next morning were 0% apologetic. They showed a complete lack of basic hospitality and common sense. If you want a hotel that cares about its guests—especially on a holiday—do not stay here.
