40th birthday celebration
The host was very accommodating during our stay and made us feel right at home; treated us like family practically. If you rent this place, rent the boat too. Made our stay that much more enjoyable!!

Perfect Christmas Gathering Spot
We selected False River and this property as a meeting location for family to spend the holidays together. The main floor was perfect for visiting, playing games, and celebrating. We used the outdoor fire pit for two days straight. The bedrooms were spacious and the dock area was amazing. What a great spot!

Awesome Family Trip
Great home on the river, beautiful view, wonderful outdoor area & pier. We had a blast fishing, boiling shrimp & just hanging out there. Beautiful house with cabin feel
We stayed at the house for the weekend to attend the LSU football game. House is right on the False River and it’s comfortable and cozy. If you fish there’s great fishing in the back off the dock. The house is clean and very spacious. When we arrived, we love that it had the soft music playing, it was perfect . Overall booking and stay was a five. If there’s any downside to this place, it will definitely be the Parking. The driveway is very hard to see especially at night and it’s on a very steep hill with not much room to park. One car is not so bad, but more than one vehicle in the driveway is stressful. However, overall greatness of the house overshadows a little parking stress.

Peaceful 3 Day Stay
Really enjoyed our 3 days stay at this rustic place. Furnished nicely and plenty of room inside and out and very quiet and relaxing with great views. The owner Emmett was very accommodating the whole time. We rented the pontoon boat which topped off the experience. The weather was perfect which made the stay even better. Great place to stay!

Always a great time!
This house is perfect for our family and friends. It’s setup well for entertaining. The location is great and the owner couldn’t be more attentive, making sure everything is perfect for an enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this property and will be back with my family again.

Great place!
It was grandkids (teens), one of their parents, and grandma and grandpa. Location was great—quiet. The house was spacious and comfortable with great views of the lake. We were close enough to town to pick up supplies. The music theme was a hit! Loved our stay! Hope to be back soon.

Relaxing!!
We loved our stay! The views of the lake/river from every room was so refreshing and relaxing. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We also reserved the party barge and enjoyed cruising and hanging out on the lake. We will be back!!

House has beautiful wood features and amazing lake view and great dock to fish off of and relax. However the house wasn’t very clean, floors were dirty and 3 cockroaches.

Cozy with a Beautiful view
Lake cabin was very cozy. We were hit with a cold front so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor as much as we would have liked to but because the cabin was so nice we were able to enjoy our time together indoors. It’s not far from New Roads so there are many stores and restaurants near by if you need supplies.

Good value
Lovely stay on False River. Emmett was easy to work with, quick to respond, and generous with his time. We did come back to no air conditioning but was back on in under and hour. He helped us rent a boat and the guys had a great time on it. The views were spectacular and the house was stocked with many necessities. Highly recommend!

Comfortable stay @ Chateau Jarreau
We had such a nice time at the property! It was a spacious and well-appointed rental. Kids took the upper room which they loved leaving plenty of room (and quiet) for the grown ups downstairs. The outdoor space was great - caught lots of fish. Emmett was a great host and gave great tips for our visit. Looking forward to a return visit!

Good, not great. Communication was awful. Interior was decently clean. Lighting was dim, especially in one of the bedrooms. Also, strange red light bulb over the bathtub in the master bath. Exterior was neglected. Cobwebs, spiders, dirt, gunk everywhere. Old yucky exterior cushions. Ashtrays everywhere, must be a smokers paradise.

We had a blast staying at this property! So comfortable! Beds we super soft and comfy! The host was so helpful and genuinely concerned that we enjoy ourselves and all that the house and region have to offer. He even taught my husband how to cast a net to catch bait!!!! This will be a regular place that we will visit!!!

Great times
My stay was nice. The driveway is really hard to get back on the highway. The camp was the cleanest but definitely decorated nicely. All the kitchen chairs need to be replaced before someone hurts themselves. Overall stay was great and would probably stay again.

Emmett was very friendly . The property wasn’t as clean as we had hoped as the showers were dirty and so were the sheets. The oven didn’t work which was frustrating because we all bought food to cook in the oven. The house was nice and had a great area to spend time all together! The driveway is treacherous but easy if you have a truck. We enjoyed our time.

Stunning Property
This property is absolutely gorgeous and CLEAN. The driveway is a little difficult to see at night with a steep incline to pull out. But you get used to it quickly. The Sand Bar is very short walk away. The back porch was the perfect little seating area. Beds were comfy. We forgot our Bluetooth speaker. The owner had one brought to us, brand new! He checked on us via text during our stay to be sure we didn’t need anything. We hated to leave. Just some advice, go to Hot Tails for lunch or Sunday brunch. And if you’re sensitive to noise at night, bring a sound machine. I had no issue with noise. But some of the more noise sensitive guests with us said the road noise was louder than they expected.

Awesome week at Chateau Jarreau
Our family had an incredible week on False River. It was the perfect getaway! Chateau Jarreau is a beautiful property with an abundance of character and comfort. We had a great time cooking, relaxing, spending time on the water, fishing, and just being together. Emmett welcomed us from the very start and made sure to go over every detail of the property and the area. It was a great personal touch to our vacation! Plan a stay here....you will not regret it!

THE Retreat- nothing shy of a gateway to heaven🙏🏻 Mystical musical chimes dance in the gentle breeze as sunshine peers in from every cornice of the property. G-O-O-D, T with an I, M with an E!
