The house itself is really nice. It looks like it's one of the older houses in this development and I believe it was actually the first built here as there is a picture of it standing on it's own inside the house. The development is very nice and relaxed though. The neighbors seemed very friendly and the grounds are very well taken care of. There is a lot of grass in the front by the water for kids to play, picnics, etc and it's a great place to have a dog. You can tell the HOA does a really good maintaining the grounds. The house is fairly big as I think it sleeps around 12 all together. There is an upstairs with 2 bedrooms and downstairs there are 3 downstairs I believe. The deck on the main level of the house is really nice and the views are amazing. This is a no-thrills rental though so don't expect anything else such as kayacks, boats, etc. In other words, whatever you are going to want on the water, bring it with you. In regards to air conditioning there is a wall unit on the main floor that worked pretty well and not all but a lot of the bedrooms have window units. The house stayed pretty cool though admittedly it only reached a high of 80 when we were there so not sure how it would feel on a 90+ degree day.
There is not a ton to do in Orondo and there is only one restaurant (The Oasis) which is located at a golf course. Lake Chelan is only a 25 minute drive away though and there are plenty of restaurants there. So either plan on going into Chelan or make sure to bring plenty of food with you. Though my wife and I did not use it there is also a community pool a very short distance away which looked very nice.
The only complaint I have is that the cable TV was not working the 3 days we were there and Vacasa was mostly unresponsive in regards to this. The local property manager finally called us to say she had left a voicemail with the cable guy, but she never called us again to follow-up and the cable guy never came over. So we had no TV at all for the 3 days we were there. As a result I can't say I came away from this trip too impressed with Vacasa. also, though there is an X-Box 360 downstairs the remote controls were out of batteries and therefore did not work. So if you have little kids or someone who is going to want to watch TV and/or play video games, you might want to make sure these services are working before submitting your payment. if you don't plan on watching any TV then no problem obviously. There is also a blu-ray player, but I did not have any blu-ray movies with me so I can't say if it actually works or not. The house does not have a movie library so bring your own if you would like to watch movies.
If it wasn't for those issues though my wife and I had no complaints and would stay here again. Really nice house and very nice community on Lake Entiat.
