Pond House on the Plains, Auburn, Firetruck rides

Imagine yourself relaxing in this newly remodeled home just 6.4 miles from both Auburn`s campus & downtown Opelika! You will soak in the serenity from our cozy cottage porch overlooking a tree swing & pond where you can fish, paddle & ponder life. Our quaint home has beds for 14, so come with your fav people to experience it all together! Enjoy the patio, grill, front porch swing, pecan orchard, & pond with ducks and paddleboat. The unique climax: a scenic ride on our vintage firetruck!

Our newly remodeled farmhouse near The Loveliest Village on the Plains (only 6.4 miles from the AU campus!) offers special outdoor spaces including a front porch with porch swing and comfy chairs overlooking the pond and a tall tree swing, plus a back patio with a charcoal grill, tables and more seating. There is alot of space for the children to spread out and play in the yard with the beautiful pecan trees. We can house up to 14 people (6 of those are bunk beds for the kids) plus a pack and play / travel bed for the baby. Two `Family Rooms` upstairs each have a large bed (one king, one queen) plus a set of bunk beds, a papasan round chair and a window seat reading nook overlooking the pond. Our roomy kitchen makes it easy for multiple people to pitch in and work together creating meals and memories. The rustic living room / dining room area has a beautiful wooden-beamed vaulted ceiling, electric fireplace, a 55 inch Smart TV with cable, and 400 mbps WiFi throughout the house. Three full bathrooms and a washer and dryer make it simple for everyone to stay together comfortably.

You will have exclusive access to the whole cottage and yard. Neighbors have shared access to the pond which is used infrequently.

In most cases, I will meet you on arrival to give you a quick tour of the space and answer any questions. After that you can contact me at any time if you need something. I live close by with my husband and two daughters and thus will be readily available! My family loves learning together and serving in our church. This is my hometown and I love the area so much. I will be more than happy to help you with any local questions or recommendations!

The area surrounding Pond House on the Plains is a small, quiet, rural neighborhood only 6.4 miles from the Auburn University campus and all the Auburn games and activities. Our location between Auburn and Opelika is also equally close to Tiger Town, Downtown Opelika and Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. We are convenient to all the events while being out of the noise and congestion of traffic and crowds. Access to the pond is shared with your neighbors who use it infrequently.

You have free parking next to the house for 4 to 5 vehicles. Park carefully in the grass just off the gravel road on the Pond House side.

At the Pond House on the Plains, we offer fun, wholesome, special touches to make your stay an experience to remember for the whole family! Where else can you get a 30-60 minute scenic ride through the lovely adjoining woods and fields on a vintage firetruck?! This is also the perfect prop for taking unique photos. A full mini tea set is provided for your use, plus a picnic basket set. There is a fun, tiny playroom for the little ones, built in under the stairs, complete with books, props, and fairy lights for imaginative play. A paddleboat is provided to more fully enjoy the pond. You are welcome to bring additional non-motorized boats such as kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards.
Please treat our Pond House and property with care and respect as you would want others to treat your own house. We hope you enjoy your stay with us!

1. There is no smoking or vaping allowed in the house or anywhere on the patio, porch, or pond. An extra cleaning fee will be charged an extra cleaning fee if there is any evidence of smoking.

2. No outdoor music or noise whatsoever (other than talking and kids playing in the yard and pond). No parties or extra guests. The owner lives within sight of the Pond House and will notice. If there is evidence of a party you will be charged an additional $200 for cleaning. Please help us maintain our peaceful neighborhood atmosphere.

3. The Pond House has regular pest control treatments. However, we can’t prevent the outdoor bugs from coming indoors if you leave the house open. Please keep all doors and windows closed and do not leave out any unsealed food inside or on the porch or patio.

4. No pets except for registered service animals. Please ensure your service animal is supervised at all times and clean up after them (both outside and inside).

5. Fishing, boating, swings and riding the firetruck are at your own risk. Please enjoy them all soberly, responsibly, and with common sense.

Checkout time is 10am (12 noon on Sundays). In the event a guest has not checked out by 30 minutes after checkout time, there will be a $50 fee charged to the guest. A departure at more than 90 minutes late will be charged the total base rate for the night with no discounts but will not be entitled to stay in the house for the extra night. Any costs incurred by the host as a result of the late checkout will be passed on to the guest.
