Cozy Chalet in Ocean Shores located within steps from the beach

Tidal House offers a convenient location and a cozy atmosphere. This recently remodeled 1960's chalet is the perfect beach getaway! Walk to the beach on beautiful sunny days and enjoy watching the deer graze in the grass right outside your window!

We won't be available on-site but we check our messages frequently and will be available to communicate during your stay if any issues arise or if you have questions.

Tidal House is in the heart of Ocean Shores, surrounded by other lodging businesses, and is within walking distance to the beach, shopping (including a supermarket if you need to stock your fridge), bike rentals, and restaurants. Additionally, it is just a one-minute drive from the main beach access point.

During your stay, if you listen closely you'll be able to hear the waves inside from the chalet.

Enjoy the wildlife! There's a high deer population in Ocean Shores and you're likely to experience several sightings during your stay... sometimes even right outside your window!

This unit is part of a 1960's chalet-style duplex, which means you will have a neighboring wall. Guests have a private entrance and full private use of their chalet. Unit access is provided via a digital key code, so you can directly access it upon your check-in time.

Guests receive one parking space directly next to the entrance to their unit.

Expecting visitors?
Additional visitor parking is located on the south side of the property (near the Grey Gull). Please ensure that your visitors do not park in spaces designated for neighboring units.

STEEP STAIRCASE
Please note that the staircase in this unit is very steep. Guests must use the handrail when going up the stairs.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT
Please be aware that the main sleeping area is on the 2nd level.

This chalet sleeps up to 4 individuals upstairs in the bedrooms. The chalet includes two rooms upstairs, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. The first room is not a closed room, but where the stairs land on the second floor.

KITCHEN
The Chalet includes a full-size range, dinnerware, pots and pans, a microwave, and a medium-sized refrigerator + freezer. Guests are required to wash all dishes they use, as there is not a dishwasher.

DUPLEX
Please note that these are duplexes, so the walls are shared with one other guest.

The beach is within easy walking distance. If you'd prefer to drive to the beach, it's about a one-minute drive to the main beach access road on W Chance A La Mer NW. There is free parking just before the beach with public restrooms or, during most of the year, driving and parking on the beach are allowed. Yes, you read that right: You can drive on the beach! If you choose to drive on the beach, be cautious. Be sure to stay out of the soft stand and plan for the tides if you plan to leave your vehicle unattended for a while. Getting your vehicle stuck in the sand and/or water is never fun!

Taxi service are available and there is also a nearby bike rental store.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT
Our check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and our check-out is at 11:00 AM. We have strict cleaning protocols for our cleaning crew and cannot be flexible with early check-in or late check-outs. If guests have used dishes they will need to wash them prior to their departure.

NO PARTIES
We ask that guests do not have parties and keep noise levels to a minimum out of consideration for the neighbors. We strive to provide a peaceful getaway near the beach. Quiet hours being at 10 PM and go through 8 AM.

FIRES
We currently do not allow bonfires on the property.

SAND
We ask that you remove your shoes at the door after a visit to the beach to avoid excessive sand in the chalet.

ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING
Electric car charging on the property is not permissible as it could provide a safety hazard. The electrical systems are not set up for car charging. The closest EV car charging is 3.9 miles away at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino.

DAMAGE
Any damage caused during your stay will be charged to you. Smoking of any kind (including vaping) is not allowed inside the chalets. A $250 fee will be applied if a guest smokes indoors.

Unit was clean but the kitchen sink does not drain (the plumbing is not done correctly). We contacted the host and they agreed that something needed to be done. Hopefully this will be addressed immediately as the lack of proper draining is a health issue. Otherwise, the stay was good!

The place is beautiful and there wasnt a lot of noise its very close to the main entrance of the beach. Under the beds was very dirty looked like it had never been cleaned. And the shower had no water pressure and only 1-2 minutes of hot water before it went ice cold.

Met our needs

We were only in town 2 nights. The location was great. We weren't able to walk to the beach via the trail due to spring flooding but it didnt matter to us. Loved walking 2 steps from our truck to the front door. Great breakfast stop across the street. The only downside was having to go up and down the steep stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

Chalet Stay

Tried the chalets again after years of being closed for renovation and they didn’t disappoint. I do miss having a fire, but safety first! Everything was clean and comfortable. We had a lovely stay. My only suggestion would be to have the cleaning staff double check the silverware & dishes to be sure they were cleaned properly. I understand it’s not the cleaning staff’s responsibility and that guests are required to clean whatever kitchenware they use, but the dishes were not clean.That said, I’ll stay again! It was very nice. Thanks!

Adequate for a short stay but not without problems.

This place was okay to stay at. It was easy to get there and find the place, but right when you walk in, there is a smell. It goes away once you adjust but it’s there. It’s not unpleasant, but noticeable. The lights downstairs didn’t work when we got there. I tried to fix it using the breaker but was having trouble so I texted the manager. I didn’t get a response so I called, and it took a couple of minutes to get someone on the phone. I told him the problem and he said he would send their on-call handyman. They weren’t sure when he’d get there. I tried messing with the breaker again and finally got the lights to start working. Then I called them to let them know it was working but it took almost five minutes of waiting for someone to answer. They were nice but it took awhile to get someone on the line. We found some dog hairs on the couch pillows, and hair on the ground in the bathroom. The painting on the doors were a bit faded. And the trash can outside wouldn’t shut properly. Also the light upstairs didn’t work near the stairs. The lighting downstairs was really dark, the lamp is covered with a dark shade which made it very dim in the living room. Also, the door was sort of weird, it was locked but you could still move it back and forth a bit, it felt very unstable. The TV worked for a bit, but was very slow and the wifi would cut out sometimes. The bathroom door had a lock but wouldn’t actually lock so we had to be careful when using the bathroom. Not sure I recommend.

Great location

My fiancé and i stayed here for one night and everything went fine. There wasnt an ac unit so it was pretty warm even with the fans which im sure is in the listing but we didnt realize until we got there. The only bigger issue we had was with the door. There wasnt a deadlock and it was not a very sturdy door so just about any adult could force it open. But the place was clean and in a great location

Great Stay at Ocean Shores

The check in and check out process was great. The chalet was clean, right across the street from Kookamunga's coffe stand that also makes fresh mini doughnuts. A short drive to restaurants, shops and the beach. The stairs in the chalet are a bit steep, but manageable. We would stay at this chalet again.

Location and Beach Access

Clean chalet, very close to everything and a few minute walk to the beach. Was cold in middle of December, probably about 55F inside the place when we arrived. But I'd stay here again.
