Helt greit hotell, pris og plassering tatt i betraktning. Vennlig personale. Litt sliten bygning. Ingen varm frokost, men vi spiste på på nabohotellet til en grei pris.

Rent og greit hotell👍
Hotellet var veldig rent. Innsjekkingen foregikk i baren som hadde samme inngang som hotellet og var rask og effektiv. Veldig hyggelig dame i baren. Rommet vårt lå i øverste etasje og det var mange trapper opp som gjorde det litt kronglete med tung koffert. Senga var ikke komfortabel på den ene siden pga at gulvet hellet nedover. Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt, du kan gå over alt på få minutter. Utsjekkingen gikk raskt, la bare igjen nøkkelen på et bord før vi gikk ut døren.

Ons verblijf was letterlijk maar een uur of 8. De gastvrouw was zeer behulpzaam en erg vriendelijk en voor het overig hebben we alleen maar een paar uurtjes geslapen en verder niemand gezien. Niet veel op te merken dus.

Very nice place, close to the train and the ferry. The people there were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms had a beautiful view over the harbour and all the basics were there. A superb deal for the price, would definitely come back!

The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom looked to be newly renovated. The bar downstairs was a friendly place to visit after a day of sightseeing. The proprietor was extremely friendly and a delight to chat with. It was overall a nice mix of old and new.

Our rooms were very comfy. Cina, was so helpful we stayed our three nights and checked out got in our rental cars headed for Edinburg got about 20 miles down the road and had to turn around as the road was flooded and they closed it. We went back to the Kelvin and she got rooms for us and the next day when the road was still closed she had the rooms for us and helped us search and check online for when the road would be open so we could make it to Edinburg for our flight we were a party of eight and are all very greatful for all the help.

Stayed 3 nights in early October 2023. The good news is it's close to the ferry terminal. The bad news is its close to the ferry terminal. The noise was pretty loud until after 10pm. The hotel looked a little tired as some of the rugs were frayed and hallway floors creaked.

Warm, welcoming inn
The Kelvin was in a convenient location for everything Oban has to offer. The innkeeper and staff were friendly and helpful. We had adorable rooms with kitchenettes, and they were just perfect to come home to after long, wet days exploring Oban and the surrounding isles. There’s even a cozy bar and continental breakfast available. We wanted to avoid hotel chains and have a more authentic experience, and The Kelvin did not disappoint. I would stay again (and really hope to)!

The hotel is ideal if you need to be in Oban for an early ferry or train both are next door across the street. The building itself is very dated but clean and the room was fine for a night or two with a good shower in the bathroom but I wouldn’t use it for longer stays. Strangely some of the corridors smelled of smoke even though it’s been banned indoors for years. Parking is available pay and display around the area we had to try several car parks but did finally get a space on a busy afternoon. The hotel is handy for the waterfront and places to eat.

Pretty average hotel with no much to like. Arrived late and the keys were in the hall for me which it was convenient, also an easy check out. I only slept and left early morning. Don't expect more than that. No breakfast or any other facilities

The room was great. Everything en suite. Runsam in the pub was very friendly and interesting. Check in and check out was no problem. I left my bag in their storage room until check in and did not have any problems or concerns with doing so.

The rooms are all upstairs and there is no lift. My room is facing the parking lot and get noisy early with car/truck and train. The room is spacious but no shampoo. Hotel itself has no restaurant, the cheap 7.5 gbp breakfast does not have hot item. The bar close early like 9pm. The room can get chilly, even in August, so there is heater, but no A/C. All in all, just a place to sleep.

The hotel is across the street from the harbor to board the ferries. The paid parking lot is in front of the hotel. The room was clean, spacious. Breakfast was good but modest in choices - mostly carbs. Staff was friendly. This hotel does not have an elevator, getting luggage upstairs is an exercise.

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Kelvin Hotel. The staff and owner are top notch. I would highly recommend to any traveler. The Kelvin Hotel is perfect for whatever you are looking for. The on site bar is perfect and excellent recommendations for the local area are provided. Sheena is a gracious and amazing host. Be certain to speak to her and understand what it means to be in Oban.
