Cozy Beach Cottage

  • Newly refurbished Cottage City Victorian beach house, built in 1870. Walk to beach, walk to town. 2 bedrooms up a narrow flight of stairs, one with a Queen size bed and one with a single (twin XL). 15 minute walk to Jetty beach or Inkwell beach. 10 minute walk to town, the harbor and the campground. Spacious yard in a very quiet neighborhood. Next door to the library.

    Regardless of recent updates this is a small cottage from the 19th century and also our home. It was moved from the campground to its current location at the turn of the 20th century. We have tried to retain the unique and historic gingerbread cottage feel of the property. If you are looking for something modern and posh it may not be for you.

    There are parking spaces for 2 cars, a small front porch and a deck in back with table and chairs for outdoor dining. There is a gas grill and a spacious front, back and side yards. There is a private outdoor shower. Indoor bathroom has a stand up shower. Gas stove, dishwasher and washer and dryer in the kitchen. There is a dining area, TV, internet and a collection of DVD's. We do not have cable TV. Towels and linens are provided.

We very much enjoyed Jared's Cottage. It was the perfect quintessential Martha's Vineyard experience. We even had turkeys with their baby that would come and feed in the backyard in the mornings! We loved it!!

Property was perfect for us. Two things other travelers should know; 1) Apple Maps couldn't find this address and Google could; 2) The stairs up to the bedrooms might be a little tight and narrow for some.....there are handholds to assist the climb. The whole place was incredibly stocked with anything you could need. The beds were comfy, AC was good, private and quiet. Highly recommend.

This property was just perfect. We arrived on Martha's Vineyard to attend my son's wedding and this little cottage definitely hit the mark! The location was perfect - close to Oak Bluffs shops and beaches. The accommodations were super clean and organized down to the smallest little detail. Sheets, towels, beach towels, bikes, coffee, movies, you name it - this host thought of it. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will definitely try to return in the very near future.

Great Getaway!

Cozy cottage was perfect getaway for the weekend. We were there for a wedding. It was the perfect spot to to get to Edgar town and Vineyard Haven.

Amazing!!!

We had a truly incredible stay as a group of 3 getting together for a girls weekend! The cottage is tastefully decorated, and makes you feel like you’ve escaped to the countryside! Everything was perfectly described- we can’t wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming vineyard cottage! The home is a relocated gingerbread house, which gave it such a unique, quaint character. While it’s cozy, the surprisingly high ceilings made it feel much more spacious than we expected. It comfortably accommodated my three kids, my mom, and me without feeling cramped.The house was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy our time together. One of our favorite features was the large backyard—it was the perfect place for the kids to run around and play while we relaxed. There are beach chairs which came in handy as well. The location was another huge plus. It was an easy walk or bike ride into downtown Oak Bluffs, making it convenient to explore the shops, restaurants, and harbor without having to drive.Overall, this was a delightful place to stay, full of charm and in a fantastic location. We’d happily stay here again!

MV cottage

Wonderful stay - moments away from Oak Bluffs. Cottage was very nice; tidy and orderly. Nice yard - we grilled each night and there was an outdoor patio dining area. We would stay there again! Thank you Jared for everything!

Mother/Daughter Weekend

My daughter and I (and my 12 month old granddaughter) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the sweetest cottage in Oak Bluffs. It was PERFECT for our long weekend stay. It was quaint and cozy for sure but certainly had everything we needed. The host was very responsive with all my inquiries.

The property was prepared, very thoughtful and had everything you could think of for a wonderful beach Island stay. The only downside was cable because I’m addicted to TV and I would’ve appreciated at least a smart TV that I could connect my own Netflix.

An amazing little cabin in OB

We had a fabulous stay here. The cottage itself is nicely proportioned—there's good living space, a kitchen, two bedrooms, and lots of nice shady outdoor space as well (not to mention an outdoor shower!). There were also lots of thoughtful touches to make staying there just right. And it's a short walk from downtown Oak Bluffs. I hope we get to return next time we're on the Vineyard!
