The house was very comfortable for 7 adults -- 3 couples and one single. The twin beds in two of the bedrooms can be pushed together, so it would easily accommodate 4 couples. We also had a baby in a crib, and the bedroom was large enough to accommodate that. The house is not fancy but it is very well-equipped, with all the kitchen equipment one could ask for (including grapefruit spoons!), a capacious laundry room, some beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, and games. The beds are very comfortable (and we're fussy about that).
The upper deck is glorious for watching the sunset or star gazing. You can see the Milky Way!
We enjoyed the goldfinches that came to the feeder, and the large butterfly that was on the beautiful butterfly bush in front.
The beach is terrific, and only a 7 minute walk. It's a private beach, so it was fairly empty. The bay is calm and great for swimming, and the water temperature is warmer than at Corn Hill.
The host (Gail Hinchin and son David) were incredibly accommodating. We received our damage deposit a week after we returned. The price for this house is very reasonable. Linens and towels are not provided, which is kind of a pain if you're coming from California, but the upside is you get to choose your own sheets. There are plenty of pillows and blankets.
We love Truro. It's not as crazy as Provincetown, but very close for grocery shopping, lovely gardens, and the dune shack trail, which is very special. Wellfleet is also nearby for upscale shopping and pretty houses. But the beaches in Truro are the best, and the vibe is old Cape Cod. I wish we could come back every year!
