On a cold winter night, after hours of travel, I entered this hotel to check in for vacation.(though its really an upscale motel). The hostess who greeted me was very courteous and assured me that this would be an excellent stay which i believed despite the warning signs.
I settled in and was met with a pitch black room with only dim lighting and scant amenities. I figured i could deal with this and began unpacking. It was only when i finished that i inspected the bed and found red stains on the sheets and brown stains on the mattresses(i checked the sofa bed too)
I can excuse the antiquated decor and dim lighting but the unsanitary condition is where i draw the line. I packed up and headed to the front desk where another host greeted me. I asked for a refund or at least another room and he accepted this showing me other rooms with similar conditions. I explained that i cannot accept these rooms due to these conditions and would need a refund. He said that will be fine and it would take 5 business days which is standard. I packed up my luggage but forgot my sweater in the closet of my original room. The host was nowhere to be seen. I waited until he returned and finally grabbed my coat, leaving unsatisfied but not vengeful.
Before leaving, I explained to the host that i found no ill will but the conditions did not reflect what i paid for nor could i stay with the unsanitary conditions. It wasnt until a week later that i found the host never issued a refund.
