we stayed for a weekend with our kids. we chose to get one of the family suites.
the property is brand new and quite beautiful. nothing to fault there. it is surrounded by vineyards, close to town (about a 5 minute drive). there is no pool, the sauna is located in the spa and i was told it is preferred that it is only for spa clients but they could work something out for hotel guests if they wanted to use it
some kinks related to maybe rushed construction. our room had a non-functional lamp and broken bedroom door handle. in fairness, the staff were willing to send maintenance to fix anything, we just never bothered.
all of the staff were, without exception, very very nice.
the problem was lack of organization. one hopes that this is growing pains related to opening recently, and possibly in a rush.
we had a reservation for dinner; our table was more than 1/2 hour late and the food and drinks took unusually long to come. breakfast was supposed to be included but none of the staff knew anything about this and it was a bit awkward to make a point of that. yet we paid quite handsomely for our room. i tried to order room service and the restaurant was not answering; the front desk couldn't take my order so i went next door and ordered take out instead.
this place would get 5 stars if they work out some managerial/organizational kinks and make sure staff know what's what (ie. breakfast package, spa policy).
