This booking was poorly handled and misleading, and it resulted in additional costs and a ruined stay.
I originally booked a Fallsview room with 1 king-size bed at The Brock Niagara Falls Hotel through Expedia. Four days later, I contacted Expedia to request a change to 2 queen-size beds. After extensive back-and-forth communication, Expedia explicitly confirmed via email that the change was approved and finalized at no additional cost.
Despite this confirmation, when I arrived at the hotel for check-in, I was told that my reservation was still for 1 king-size bed. Hotel staff informed me that while the change was initially processed, it was later reverted back to the original booking, without my consent and without any notification from Expedia.
Because of Expedia’s failure to properly manage and communicate my reservation, I was forced to pay an additional $40 out of pocket just to have a usable sleeping arrangement. This situation should never have happened, especially when Expedia had already confirmed the change.
This experience reflects serious mismanagement, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. I relied on Expedia’s confirmation and was penalized for their mistake. I am extremely dissatisfied and would not trust Expedia again without significant improvement in booking accuracy and customer support.
