When we arrived at the location the desk clerk told us there was no reservation for us and that there were supposed to be no more check-ins. She had to call the GM and after a while we were given room keys and were told that our room had been "upgraded" due to the issues. When we got to the room, we noticed a personalized letter thanking us for booking with them, which tells me that the room was the one I had booked and not an "upgrade". What I don't like is being told that we were getting an "upgrade" but it seems to have been a ruse to placate us. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was a thin mattress on top of solid wood. For a "Deluxe King Room" in a hotel with placards everywhere that said how "luxurious" everything was, it left much to be desired. However, the location is beautiful and close to everything that we wanted to see and do.
