I am requesting a FULL refund. I checked in and after an hour, I was unable to get internet (despite being a Marriott Bonvoy Member) and demonstrating it was not an issue with my devices. After giving up on internet after return trips to the front desk, I began to unpack my bags in my room (Room 4353) only to find the largest cockroach I have ever seen scurrying about the floor. To be sure, this cockroach was SO large, it could not fit under the bathroom or main door to the room.
After videotaping it running around as proof, I re-packed my bags and went to the front desk to immediately check out (inconveniently at 11:53pm) to go find a different hotel. I informed the front desk of the unwelcome cockroach, showed them the video, and requested an immediate refund. I was met with ZERO empathy, no discernible apology, and was told because I booked my room through Expedia, I would need to seek a refund from them. I less-than-politely informed them I doubted Expedia had turned off my internet or placed the cockroach in my room.
Do not confuse the Williamsburg Inn with the Williamsburg Lodge. The former is an elegant high-end hotel, the latter is a dated roach motel.
