The hotel is run down and needs some basic repairs to keep up with the properties surrounding it. The owner was extremely helpful in working out parking, which is great for the location but the property is in need of cosmetic repairs. Our room had no air conditioning or screen so the window was completely opened all night. Just one of a number of things that need some attention.

Owner called at 1130 that day asking when we could check in as she had someplace yo go. Changed plans to go straight there, room wasnt ready but now in other property since it makes no sense to heat a bldg just for 2 rooms. Definitely heated, all 3 rooms on the floor were around 75 degrees. No screens in windows to open. And we could hear everything going on in yhe next room. Worry less about jow many properties you have bought and more about keeping guests comfortable. But room was clean and otherwise comfortable. Great location.

If you’re into the Inn experience, Cleveland House is the best! The rooms are lovely and clean and the Innkeeper, Rick, couldn’t be more helpful. He truly bends over backwards to make your stay perfect. We spent our anniversary there in November and just returned with my parents for an April weekend trip. I don’t have one complaint from either trip. (And neither did my parents-which is AMAZING-in fact, they were gushing.) The parking is right outside your door and you can walk just about anywhere you want to go! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was a historic building from the 1700's. It was close to all the shopping and dining and yet it was away from the hustle and bustle and noise. It was fairly priced. All in all it was a good experience.

We went into Cleveland House which is beautiful, but she put us in the house across the street, it was ok. The bed was nice and comfy and the room was very clean. The building was pretty old and creaky and the windows were very drafty. We had the breakfast which was just plain. The website says $12.50 but they charged us $16.95 which was a rip-off for tea, juice, 2 eggs, one sausage patty and bread that we had toast. Location was ideal. We probably would go back int he summer, but would opt for some place else for breakfast.

We have four properties on Clarke street which at all at the same location. We always try to offer guests a better room choice when they are available. Yes, our properties date back to the 1700 and 1800's which is part of their character. But they have been renovated to the nines. We are known to have the nicest bath amenities in Newport. Our breakfast cost of 16.50 given the hike in eggs and related increases we feel is a good value for a cooked to order breakfast, all included.

The only good thing was parking. Bathroom is tiny you can barely wash your face on the sink it os do small and don’t try to wash your feet or raise your arms in the shower impossible. Definitely needs updating.

Tina booked a room with one queen bed at the Cleveland House. Tina came with a girlfriend. We offered Tina to re-locate to another property which had a two-room suite each room had a queen bed at the same rate. The bathroom is small. The Cleveland House has some of the nicest bathrooms in Newport. She probaly should of stayed at the Cleveland House and shared a bed with her friend with a nice bathroom. Our apoligies.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very cozy and warm during the winter. The building and the furniture is a bit older but the location was perfect, close to all locations for the best places in Newport.

Great stay!
Was a great overnight stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They had great suggestions for places around town and were very welcoming. The room was small and cozy. The shower was great. The only thing I’d change was the mattress was stiff for my taste, but my partner had no problem.

Great Place & People, Would Book Again!
Great location, historic building, and possibly the most attentive and kind hotel staff I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. While I was a little confused at first by the switched (or in some cases unplugged) lights and the pervasive heat/unopenable windows, they did little to detract from the incredible people, delicious breakfast, and beautiful, well-kept space. In truth, the biggest pros of the hotel were not the room itself, even if the spacious bathroom and large tub were quite nice, but the walking distance to so much of Newport's wonderful attractions and the merciful existence of onsite parking. The staff were communicative and helpful at all times from before checking in to after checking out, and that really puts this place over the top for me. Next time I vacation in Newport, I know exactly where I'm going.

Cleveland House is in a perfect location and the price was reasonable. Our room was clean and coffee was available in the morning. Rick was very welcoming and a great source of information for what to do in Newport. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price of our room. We opted to purchase the breakfast one morning. The breakfast was convenient and delicious, but we will skip it on our next because of the price. We would recommend a stay there and will return.
