Bright and Cozy Oceanview Cottage - minutes from white-sand beaches
A comfortable, oceanside escape where the Atlantic Ocean meets authentic Nova Scotian charm.
Located in The Lobster Capital of Canada along the scenic shores of Cape Sable Island, this peaceful cottage offers ocean views, salty breezes, and the soothing rhythm of the sea. Ideal for individuals, couples, and families looking for tranquility, this bright and friendly retreat is minutes from white sand beaches, working wharves, and the famous Cape Islander lobster boats.
Nick's Nest is minutes from The Hawk which is part of the Cape Sable Island Important Bird Area.

The Cape Sable Lighthouse is on a small island off the coast of the Hawk and can be visited by boat seasonally. https://www.nslps.com/about-ns-lighthouses/lighthouse-lists?c=cape-sable-lighthouse
There are several other lighthouses in the county; perhaps you can find them all!
While most visitors come for our famous sandy white beaches, there's lots more to see and do. Shelburne County is home to a live theatre (Osprey in Shelburne), live music on the water front in the summer (Barrington and Shelburne), seasonal markets, scenic hiking trails, quaint towns of Clark's Harbour, Lockeport and Shelburne with many tasty food options including local seafood. The unique Shag Harbour UFO museum is a short drive from the cottage. The Acadian Village, located in Lower West Pubnico, is a must-see for those interested in the history of our province/country.
Just a ten-minute drive from the cottage, in Barrington Passage, you will find local amenities including several restaurants (take-out or dine-in), groceries, hardware, gas stations, etc. A bit further down the road in Barrington you will find the museum complex which includes the Old Meeting House, Woolen Mill, Seal Island Light (replica) and gift shop. From there it's a short hop to the 103 highway on which you can quickly travel to Yarmouth (CAT Ferry terminal and shopping district) and Shelburne (old town charm and historic waterfront).
Inside the cottage you'll find:
A fully equipped kitchen to prepare your meals (or steam fresh local lobster!)
Comfortable living and dining spaces with large windows with an ocean view
Two bedrooms with cozy bedding and coastal decor
Fast Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, and workspace
