Traveled solo to Newark for an overnight layover after a long international flight that arrived early morning. Had two heavy bags. If this could be you, pick a different hotel. Getting to the airport shuttle pick up requires a long walk and transfer via train to another terminal. Then a long wait for the hotel’s shuttle. The TRYP’s shuttle only runs hourly before 7am and every half hour thereafter. The front desk, when I finally got there, acted like I was crazy trying to check-in before 3. Not friendly, polite or helpful at all. When I did get a room (the second receptionist was much nicer) the bed sheets and cover felt cheap. The room had very bright white led lighting. Had a depressing view of the parking lot. The next morning the shuttle driver drove like a maniac. I did not feel safe at all. Not the nicest area. Bottom line - pay the extra $ and stay at a hotel with a better shuttle service and staff that actually cares about their customers.
