Beautiful, clean, great location, hot tub, fire pit, grill, large porches and excellent WIFI!
A tastefully decorated new Swedish-inspired build with 16 foot high ceilings, an open floor plan, large covered porches, fire pit and a private new hot tub. Inside find a beautiful living space consisting of locally-sourced oak and knotty pine walls, hickory flooring, cherry cabinets and lots of windows overlooking a vast forest. Enjoy colorful sunrises and sunsets from this hill top cabin that overlooks 91 acres of private woods.
There is fabulous hiking on our property's trails (find fairies in our whirly twirly fairy trail, get lost in the maze of confusion and hike the settler's grave yard). This property is adjacent to Waterloo Wildlife Area (2300 acres) and Zaleski State forest surrounds it. Explore the area (Lake Hope's Old Hollow Cave and Pioneer Cemetery trail is amazing). This property is in a great location between to a hip college town (Athens) and amazing Hocking Hills region.
***The property has one security camera pointed away from the house, facing the driveway entrance.

This cabin is so nice. Roomy, cozy and spotless. As soon as we walked in I loved it. It was very well supplied with everything we needed. Cards & games, coffee, super comfortable couch & beds, washer & dryer. Beautiful deck with table & chairs & a set of rockers. I want to come back and have morning coffee in those rockers. Too cold to do that this time of year, but we did use the hot tub. That was wonderful after a day of hiking. The deck has an awesome view of the woods and there are trails on the property as well. Loved the fairy garden trail. And it was so nice to have several towel racks in the bathroom and hooks in the bedrooms and a coat rack by the entrance. Most places never have enough of those. It was just a wonderful stay and we recommend this property 100%.

We had a relaxing time! Everything was clean and well labeled. Hot tub, TV, hiking trail and lights were all clearly explained and easy to use, no surprises! Refreshing how straight forward everything was. Loved the fresh wood cabin smell and all the helpful appliances and amenities. We would love to come back!

The place was not clean at allI took pictures because there was black mold in the shower and a dirty cookie sheet of bacon grease sitting in the oven. Heat wasn’t great and the place did not have a pleasant smell at all. Pretty sure the pillows were 20 years old along with the king mattress that had a huge deep sunken hole on both sides which made it hard to get out of the bed. Not comfortable at all The paths were good along with the hot tub and fire pit but the place needs a very deep cleaning!

This cabin is so pretty!! It is situated about a half hour SE of Hocking Hills fairly close to a very quiet road. I do hope no one turns this cabin away because of it's proximity to the road!! It's super quiet and we only noticed cars while in the hot tub. The interior of the cabin is tastefully decorated and very clean. The light, especially if it's sunny, pours in through all the windows and sliders on the back of the house...I kept thinking I needed to shut lights out. The kitchen is decently stocked with everything you might need for meal prep/cooking. The freezer has an ice maker. The host left ample dishwasher tabs, but no dish soap or dish cloths. There wasn't much soap of any kind actually and what was there was watered down. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and have ample table space in each for luggage, etc. Outside is nice as well. The hot tub is nice and hot with a nice view, bring towels as none are provided. There is a big fire pit that we didn't use, and trails on the property that are worth walking. While there is great wi-fi, there is no satellite. Bring passwords for Netflix, etc. A couple of small suggestions for the host, please provide soap for your guests, it's not expensive, and please provide more/better kitchen and bath linens. Also, all the light showcases some dust high up (fans, lights). Not being picky about it, but it's noticeable. Like I mentioned earlier, the cabin is very clean. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you!!

This was such a cute little cabin to stay at and so cozy! Our pup is 12 years old but she acted like a puppy again with the trails right behind the cabin, which my husband and I loved as well. I was also very surprised at how comfortable the bed was compared to other places we stayed. Would highly recommend this little getaway cabin!

This cabin was absolutely perfect for my getaway! It’s tucked away in a peaceful wooded area in New Marshfield, giving me that true “middle of nature” feeling while still being close enough to enjoy both Hocking Hills and Athens. The location couldn’t be better — I spent one day hiking at Old Man’s Cave and could easily spend another exploring the shops and restaurants in Athens.The cabin itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and stocked with everything I needed. The hot tub is amazing after a long day of exploring, and I loved ending the evening by the fire pit. The hosts clearly put a lot of care into making the space cozy and welcoming, from the comfortable furniture to the thoughtful little touches throughout.If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing escape that’s still close to everything, this is the best cabin you’ll find in the area. I can’t wait to come back!

My bestie and I stayed here for our annual girls get-away in the woods, and this will be the forever destination from here forward. The cabin was beautiful, comfortable, very clean, well-supplied with amenities, and privately nestled in gorgeous woods. We've found our home away from home. Dale was an unexpected perk! All cabins should include a deck dog. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We look forward to returning next September.

Lovely perfect size home for 2. It was clean and did not have any odors, which is a relief for a pet friendly rental. Lauren & Andy were your perfect hosts. Had no issue getting in. Our concerns where the black mold we assume in the shower and the broken towel rack on the sliding glass shower door. Perhaps for a younger renter that is not an issue. We are not younger. The back yard was a bit deceiving in the post photos for there is really not a back yard but a steep sloping hill which the fire-pit and the 3 very heavy wooden Adirondack chairs where hanging onto. It does have a lovely covered deck and the view was spectacular. Thank goodness our 2 dogs are seniors so it worked out fine. The kitchen is very usable and had almost everything you need. Nice appliances as well. Unfortunately the can opener was broken. We did manage. The 2 mattresses where a bit hard for our old bones, but after some adjustment in a couple of days we had no issues. Certainly would recommend to anyone and note the items I mentioned for each appropriate age group. We enjoyed our stay and the surrounding area. Very rural indeed. We cooked every night and walked on the woodsy path down the steep hill in the woods behind us. Nicely marked with arrows! We had a quest visit us twice a day, owners Lab Dale and enjoyed his company. We did venture to Hocking Hill and had been there 2 other times, but because of the draught, very little to no water in the gorge. So no waterfalls. But loved the Waterloo area.

This place is absolutely perfect!!! Beautiful cabin and tons of privacy. It was so we'll stocked too! Linens, towels, cookware, etc. It was so quiet and overall lovely!! We cannot wait to return. The trails were super fun too!!

This was an excellent choice for our weekend getaway. Place was beautiful inside and out. Loved the privacy of the property and the attention to detail inside the cabin. Lauren was wonderful and very detailed in her communication. We will definitely be back and next time we plan to stay longer! Perfect place to rent.

This cabin is awesome and just perfect for a getaway weekend! The kitchen is very well appointed with everything we needed to prepare all our meals. The deck, where we spent most of our time, has lovely views and edison "party lights" that we enjoyed! The hot tub was clean and fully functional. The beds were extremely comfortable, and all rooms had plenty of electrical outlets. It was within about 30 minutes of all our activities (mainly golf and disc golf). This was honestly one of our favorite VRBOs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The cabin was beautiful! The view was amazing. Sitting on the porch sipping a morning drink listing to the birds sing was so peaceful and relaxing. We came for the relaxation and got just that. The hot tub was hot and bubbly and we could not have ordered more perfect weather. Sunset sitting at the fire pit was breathtakingly beautiful. The internet was great- no problems connecting and stayed strong. The communication with the owners was easy and they got us something we needed quickly. Thank you!!The master bedroom had a king sized bed with a memory foam mattress. Nice size fridge and electric stove and oven. It’s quiet and although close to a road, it’s a quiet gravel road way off the beaten path and we maybe heard one car the entire time we stayed. And bonus …if you get to meet Doug (the cabin’s area pup) he’s wonderful and sweet and would never turn away a treat!We loved our stay and plan on staying again in the future.
