Our week long stay was wonderful, and we credit a lot of that to our hosts, Pascal and Betty. They helped with our rental car, gave us great dining ideas (Rosemary's in Marigot was wonderful and not expensive at all), excursion suggestions (Scoobidoo!) and answered our every question. The unit was filled with everything you need, including plush beach towels, lounge chairs to soak up the sun, washer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc., you just need to bring yourself and your bathing suit and a few changes of clothes. We brought way more than we needed to.
We felt safe at the complex, not once was there anything to be afraid of. The pool was sparkling clean and the grounds were kept clean, garbage picked up daily.
We walked to the bakery more often than we should have and picked up bread to make sandwiches to take to the beach. We found Mulley Bay Beach to be our favorite and it was a 10 minute drive from the unit. Pascal and Betty provide beach chairs, beach umbrella (2), coolers and noodles, all which we took to the beach and therefore we didn't have to pay for chairs/umbrellas/beer each day, saving us at least $30 each time we went to the beach. There were many of us on the beach who brought our own stuff and it was never a problem. We went to the Carrefor (sp) supermarket and bought groceries and we even found a 5% off coupon in one of the magazines in the house. There is a Cadismarket right by the house but it is limited. The closest Carrefor is a smaller one on the way to Mullet Bay Beach and they have quite a lot, but for a much larger selection, go to the bigger one and buy for the week.
The bed at the house was comfortable, the a/c unit got really cold, the water pressure was great (and no worries about losing water, Betty was smart and had a cistern installed at the house so if the island loses water, you don't). The view from the bank of windows facing the water is gorgeous and to thoroughly enjoy the house make sure to sit outside at the comfortable table and eat your meals under the sunshade while listening to the waves.
This house was wonderful for our stay and we wished we would have stayed longer. Pascal and Betty really go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and will help with any questions you have. Do not hesitate to rent from them as you will not be disappointed. We will be back!
