Tucked away in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our home offers direct water access to Lake James, as well as beautiful mountain views. Inside a gated community, the property is situated on over 2 wooded acres. Enjoy the great outdoors swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking trails inside and outside the community, and getting a close look at local wildlife. We are conveniently located between Charlotte and Asheville, also just an hour away from Boone, Blowing Rock, Linville and Banner Elk. A great location to take day trips from. Shopping and groceries are just a 15-minute drive away too.

Boat trailers are not allowed to be parked in the driveways, if you bring a boat, you will need to secure off site parking. The manager can send you information on a location and costs.

Main Level- Open design kitchen, dining for 10, and living room. Access to upper decking and screen porch with wood burning fireplace. The master bedroom and ensuite bath are off the living room and there are 2 other bedrooms that share a full bath on the other side of the entry hall. One with king bed, and the other with 2 twins. The hall has a half bath and stairs to the lower level.

Lower level- Large family room with air hockey, corn hole, and piano. Large covered lower deck with access to upper deck and path to the dock. 2 master suites with queen beds and very spacious baths, laundry room with additional fridge and iron with board, bonus space with 2 twin beds.

There are 5 Smart TVs throughout the house and Direct TV. WIFI is included but speeds can vary in this neighborhood, so we recommend not having too many devices attached at once. Board games are located in the living room and the family room. Guests are welcome to read any books in the home. The private dock has power and lights and 2 kayaks with vests are included.

House was dirty, gas grill was unusable, dishwasher had mold in it, also a couple of shower heads had mold, thermostat was locked couldn’t adjust temperature. No broom so we could sweep up. House needs some TLC

Beautiful house with easy access to the dock/lake. Very chill and quiet neighborhood. Great swimming for the whole family right off the dock in the cove as well as excellent fishing; Bluegill, Rock Bass, Small Mouth Bass and Catfish!The house worked great as a central hub for surrounding activities such as the Biltmore Estate, Carowinds Park, Pisgah National Forest as well as some great local shopping and restaurants within a 15 minute drive.

Perfect Family Vacation

The location of this lake home is ideal on a quiet cove for swimming. The surrounding trees give you privacy from neighbors. You can’t even see them. The older kids enjoyed jumping off the upper dock into the cove. Recommend picking up toys and floats for kids. We found inexpensive ones at Walmart.many grocery stores and other shopping is just 15-20 minutes in Marion. We boated Monday to Friday and practically had the lake to ourselves. The only slight downside is the 2 lake restaurants are closed weekdays. Our boat picnics were very fun.

Comfortable & Cozy for a lake weekend

Our family really enjoyed staying here. There was plenty of space for all of us and had everything you'd want in a lake front home - Views, easy access down to the water/dock, plenty of areas to gather. The dishwasher is quite finicky, but we were able to figure it out. Would certainly stay here again!

Lovely lake house

Clean lovely house on the lake. Our family stayed for to attend a family wedding in the area. Due to the recent flooding, the lake was not as accessible as we had hoped. But, the stay was still wonderful and the area beautiful. We had a great stay in Nebo. Thank you, Steve Ness

Family Labor Day stay

This house was perfect for our family goodbye to summer stay! It was good for multiple generations. The cove was perfect for floating and having our boat. Internet and connections a little spotty in places but that was in the descriptions so no surprises. We love our stay and hope to rebook in the future. Karen, the host, was very quick to respond to our questions. Love it!!

Lake James Perfection

A lovely stay and very private! This home is well stocked and well situated on the lake, which btw is one of the cleanest in NC. Yes, you hear jet skis but they're on the bigger, wider channels. They aren't obnoxious on this home's deck like on some lakes. A nice indoor setup so that kids can be downstairs for their stuff and we adults can be upstairs.

Great Location, Terrible Upkeep

The location of this house, the structure/setup/#of bedrooms is great. The yard space and dock were both great. The house itself was unfortunately not the cleanest place I've ever stayed. When we arrived there was a set of sheets in the washer that had been there for a week and were of course soured. This would not be a big deal normally because little things happen all the time and its nothing to really freak out about. However, once we started taking stock of the rest of the house we just felt like 1)it was not maintained well at all and 2) the people who cleaned the house just didn't do a good job. Sadly, I found a ton of mold in the coffee pot the first morning. That was not good. It took the property manager 7 hrs to respond back to me about getting a new pot for the next morning. At that point it was 9p and I had already just gone out to buy a new one. Every single appliance had a smell-because they were moldy! The shower heads all had mold on them. Light bulbs were out, some canned lights were just hanging from the ceiling. We couldn't use the dishwasher because the mold and smell were so bad that all the dishes had a smell when they came out. The dishes/cookware in the kitchen did not seem like they were very clean. Overall, we were just disappointed. It was not an inexpensive place to stay and it was disappointing to realize that we weren't staying in a place that was clean. The house has so much potential and if it was properly maintained I think could be a 5/5.

July 4th Vacation

This house and its amenities are even better in person. The dock is spacious and brand new with an amazing second level. The cove is perfect for floating all day long. The house layout is amazing and accommodated our 7 with so much room to spare. There was 1 bedroom upstairs with 2 twins that we didn’t even need. The downstairs is so great for teens or another family. Our teens had their own living room, bathrooms, bedrooms and covered deck. I can’t say enough about this wonderful house. We would rent it again in a heartbeat! Great neighborhood that we walked in everyday. Beautiful home with everything you need - you can’t go wrong! There is a regular coffee pot so bring regular coffee (not K-cups).

Family Thanksgiving Celebration

Our family members traveled from around the eastern US to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Our youngest was 9 months and our oldest was 90 years. The house was perfect for all of us!! We loved the decks, the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, the grill, the view, the location and the accommodations. Karen, the manager, could not have been more helpful and responsive. Great stay for all of us!💕

Family Time = Happy Time!

This was a wonderful location for a family gathering. The house was comfortable and inviting, and we enjoyed the board games and books provided. We rented a boat for the week, so we spent a lot of time on the water enjoying the magnificent views. Lake James is not crowded so it was a very relaxing time together. We would highly recommend this location and this home.

Lovely Lake James House

My extended family and I stayed at this house in July 2023. We had a lovely week. The house was clean, and was advertised. Everything was well stocked, and was working well. There was enough space and bedrooms for the entire family. We loved that there were TVs in most rooms. Karen was very accessible and responsive to any questions. My only suggestion might be for a slightly better way to dispose of garbage, as I had to go to the local dump halfway during our stay. (Perhaps another garbage bin is needed). This wasn’t a big deal at all, as the dump is literally just a 5 min drive away. Other than that everything was perfect. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful location and home

We had an air conditioner issue which was fixed in a day. We had to clean the grill for it to work. Other than those 2 small issues the trip was perfect. Would rent again and may next year.

Excellent stay

Stayed over Memorial Day weekend with friends and family. We had awful weather but still had an excellent stay at the property. The house includes a large living/kitchen area and a nice basement area for the kids to play; both of which were essential with all the rain over the weekend. Covered porch and outdoor fireplace was great to accommodate rainy conditions as well. A huge benefit was the easy walk down to the lake which is rare in this neighborhood! Management was helpful and responsive throughout the process. Overall great stay!
