1875 panoramic stone house

Est. 1875 stone house, fully renovated with respect for the traditional Cycladic architecture, equipped with highly aesthetic modern comforts, and surrounded by stunning landscape. It is ideal for relaxation, tranquility and nature connectedness. Built in the heart of Naxos, it is the perfect choice for excursions to the beautiful beaches of the island and serves as a starting point for cycling, hiking, trail running and, of course, climbing to the top of the highest mountain of the Cyclades.

The space

The house is located in Filoti, a traditional, picturesque village in the centre of Naxos island, a 25 minutes’ drive both from Chora and from many beautiful beaches. It is built on 2 levels that communicate with 15 outdoor steps. The lower level has 3 spacious rooms and a bathroom. The upper level has a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and a huge terrace that affords a panoramic view across the village, the plain and the imposing Zeus mountain. Antique furniture and traditional objects, restored with passion and patience, bear witness to the history of the house and are interspersed with modern works of ceramic art, creating a unique ambience.
Looking for relaxation? You can lie on the terrace chaise-longue, listen to the owl and the goats, feel the scent of the herbs that lingers in the breeze and gaze at the sunset or later at the stars. Looking for social life? You can walk down the cobbled alleys and stone steps and get within 5 minutes to the vibrant village centre, under the plane tree, to the cafés, restaurants and local shops, which are buzzing with life.

Guest access

The traditional cobbled alleys and stone steps of the village do not allow car circulation. Access to the house is possible via a narrow, quite steep and bumpy road that ends up in a small parking lot, from which you can reach the house in 2 minutes by walking down a path. Alternatively, you can park your car gratis in the big and easily accessible village car park, from which you will need to walk up quite a few stone steps (300 metres – approx.5min.).
The house is not recommended for small children due to the style of the terrace balustrade that has large openings. It is not recommended for people with reduced mobility because it is not easily accessible and also has steps between the 2 levels.
Those who want to experience the authentic Naxos, away from the hustle and bustle, can explore the picturesque alleys of the village, with the whitewashed houses, the vine pergolas, the gorgeous bougainvilleas, and the aromatic basil as well as encounter the hospitable local residents. This unique experience, combined with the aesthetics of the house and the magnificent view, will reward the visitor.

Other things to note

The house has 50cm thick stone walls that keep it cool in the summer months. Plus, there is an air conditioner in each bedroom and in the kitchen for cooling or heating, in case it is needed.
All house areas have access to fast Wi-Fi.
Disinfestation is carried out with approved substances absolutely safe for the guests at the beginning of the season and whenever necessary.
Cleaning is done with materials approved by the relevant regulatory agencies and according to Airbnb's enhanced cleaning protocol.
The towels and sheets provided are washed and sanitized by a certified company with long-term experience in this field.
